Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion is a huge homage to Zelda Wind Waker. It also has a lovely turn based combat system. The voice acting is also done by the original voice actors/actresses of the TV series. This, is a pretty good game.
However. The game wasn't in a fit state to be released.
Loading screens take 1 min at least, and usually around 5 mins (The loading screens actually say "this may take a while") and there's loading screens constantly. There's a lot of frame rate issues, during sailing around the ocean the game will freeze for a couple seconds and load in new areas, the game crashes a fair amount. Even during combat sometimes the game wouldn't register that the fight is over and you'll have to close the game and re-open it loosing any progress done since last save.
And that's not it. About in April of this year we where only shown Pre-Alpha footage of this game, now, a couple months later, it's out and available to buy. That isn't enough time to go from Pre-alpha to release no matter who you are.
The game is $39.99/£34.99 too. This is way too much considering how unplayable it is for the most part. It was released in mid-late last month and to my knowledge there hasn't been any patches to resolve even the crashes.
One part of the game very often crashes during the loading screen too, meaning it's not just an issue with optimisation, but also there's issues within the game itself.
The game doesn't feel finished at all either. There's no music during combat, the graphics, although look cute, don't feel "polished" and the game in general doesn't feel finished at all.
I'm just making this post since if anyone is thinking of buying this, I would highly recommend not buying it, at least for now. It's a massive waste of money for a game that doesn't really even half work and you'll spend a lot more time in loading screens then actually playing. I haven't seen many people talking about this which is suprising, since the game does look pretty fun, and it's adventure time which have come out with some pretty great games in the past. But not many people are speaking out about this mess.
