Disclamer: I haven't read the manga yet, so don't flame me, please. But I will make an updated version of this post once I have. This is only an analysis on the movie. Thank you.

If you're an anime fan of any sort, you probably heard of Akira. It was very revolutionary for animation in general. So if you like animation or art, Akira would be a great example of both. The animation looks so alive and it took almost 10 million U.S. Dollars to make! The soundtrack is very interesting and unique. Using noises from the mouth and Akira's composer, Tsutomu Ōhashi, is quite the scientist. He says that the soundtrack contains hypersonic frequencies which I don't know what those are, but sound cool.

Did you know that the voices were recorded first before a single frame of animation was made? This was done so that the animators can exactly draw the voice actor's mouth movements to make the characters look realistic. When you watch the movie, no spoilers, it can feel rushed. This is the case because the movie was adapting a six-volume manga which is over 2,000 pages combined. Both the manga and the anime were created by Katsuhiro Otomo. And I have to say, Otomo, you're a genius!

Reactions: Knight Rain
I just finished watching it. Quite a fun movie, and the english dubbing was of surprisingly good quality

Akira was a very good movie and it was way ahead of its time at the time that it came out

I watched this movie last summer with my brother, ugh.

I can't deny the animation and overall quality was amazing for it's time, but the movie itself was...awful. It was just too weird for me I guess.
