Hello,

Yesterday, I decided to go to school to get some random StreetPass, and I saw that one of my friends got himself the N3DS XL. And since he got MH4U with it, he asked me if I had it. Of course, I said "no" because the camera's controls were bad, but I heard that the game plays better if one uses a Circle Pad Pro on the game.

And that leads me to my main problem: Where can I get one that works with the 3DS XL ?
I've tried searching in every possible store where I live, and there was none. And Amazon ? The prices are hilarious. (Oh really, a "collector's edition" CPP that costs 2 3DS ? Are you even trying to be kidding ?)

So, if anybody could point out where I could buy one that won't costs me more than the price of a game, I'd be really grateful. Thanks!

Yes. Finding one here is impossible, so, I figured I'd ask out.

what have you tried so far to find it

Amazon (and thus Internet), going to local stores near where I live...

I'm not sure but i think they are backorder, and since the New 3DS is out, probably they won't make more =/ But I might be wrong too

I don't hope so. I really can't afford the N3DS (too expensive, and Europe got no promotion, so, it would end up with me paying full price (that's €180 [~$200] I don't have)) plus I'd rather stay with my 3DS :(...

Why were those back-ordered anyway, since many people have the XL now, and there are more games using it ? That's nonsense, especially when you know the regular CPP (for regular 3DS) is waaaaaaaaaay cheaper (€15 on Amazon) and not out of stock o_O.

In any case, thanks for the info. I hope I'll get lucky enough to get one.

Anyway, it's the info I had from an EB Games a while back, I hope they were wrong though! Maybe their specific furnisher couldn't get them anymore for them? I'll cross my fingers for you and will hope, if I see anything I'll think about you!

Assuming the NA version also works with the Eu 3DS (since it's hardware) why don't you try the official nintendo store? https://store.nintendo.com/ng3/browse/productDetailColorSizePicker.jsp?productId=prod10517 It's $19.99 there (and probably some shipping costs). From what I've read about people importing them from Japan and the NA it appears to be regionlock free.

Or, for the same price, at gamestop. http://www.gamestop.com/nintendo-3ds/accessories/3ds-circle-pad-pro-gamestop-exclusive/98636

Or ebay for even lower prices: http://www.ebay.com/bhp/3ds-xl-circle-pad-pro

Or take some recommedations from this reddit thread:http://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/comments/18i8ad/best_place_to_get_circle_pad_pro_xl/

That's a lot of resources, :D !
Thanks, I'll take a look at those (aside from eBay, since my parents will never want me to get something off that site!)

Edit: the Nintendo Store link seems to only give me the CPP for the regular 3DS, but the reddit thread had a link to Play-Asia where I might be able to get one that's not too expensive.

Thank you all!
(Time to save up some money now :p !)

Oh wow PersonSP, that's awesome! I think I'll favorite the links you provided, just in case a friend needs it, you're so useful! I don't know why I've been told that at EB Games while they have it at Gamestop (same company), maybe they had a restock and it was just a temporary backorder? Anyhoo, I'm happy about all that.

I have special google powers. :p Glad to be able to help.

Well, after some more browsing around the links, I have found even way better than a regular CPP, so, I thought I'd share it:

For XL/LL 3DS systems (Region doesn't matter according to reviews)
http://www.play-asia.com/monster-hunter-4g-expansion-slide-pad-for-3ds-ll-paOS-13-49-fr-70-7zub.html
There also seem to be a regular 3DS version here:
http://www.play-asia.com/monster-hunter-4g-expansion-slide-pad-for-3ds-paOS-13-49-fr-70-7zud.html

But of course, thanks to both of you, @SunnyWindy and @PersonSP for helping me with this issue. It's a bit more expensive, but it looks more ergonomic.

I can confirm that region doesn't matter like what @D4rkDragon said. Here in my country, most controllers are imported from Japan, and CPP is one of those. Brandnew CPP here costs $20 tho. And 2nd hand/used ones for at least $10. But it still depends on where you'd be buying. :D
