Hi everyone i have a qustion for y'all there making a device for he 3ds/xl so you can use amibbo on it but when it comes out idk if i should get it what do you guys think?

Amiibo are terrible; let us never speak of them again.

This is my reaction to most all amiibo-related news these days, particularly regarding their availability at specific retailers. But I'm an surly old misanthrope hailing from a long line of pack rats, one who has seen the great evil piles upon piles of plastic crap can do to a person. It's in my blood, the pack rattery, and I believe my aversion to collecting this bunk is some sort of primal defense mechanism.

If you like Nintendo, like collecting, and want to use them in games you own: Yes.
I wasn't sure about amiibo at first when they were announced at E3 2014, and now I own about 14 amiibo. It is VERY addicting to collect them.

Well, blame it all on the scalpers that are trying to make money by selling certain amiibos for more than the retail price! I have a Link, Kirby and Pikachu amiibo, but am I selling them at 10 times the price? Nope! I keep them in my collection. And yes, there are three I have at the moment.

Besides, if the Gold and Silver Mario amiibo from the Super Mario amiibo line ARE one of the final Elite Status rewards, I will NEVER sell something special like those to some scalper or retailer! I would keep them with me, removed from packing or not.

sure those amiibos look useful but i dont suggest you buy them unless you really want them. I personally didn't like these stuff because they can be reallly a hassle to do all of it but if you like collecting then id suggest its your choise

amiibo are ONLY good if you like collecting Nintendo items. Their functions in games aren't really that good - speaking as someone that has almost every amiibo.

I like them but I almost NEVER use them in games. Smash Bros. usage for amiibo is, put simply, retarded.

Really the only 3DS game that has GOOD amiibo support is Codename STEAM.

It is worth the price tag if you really think about it:
  1. It is officially licensed by Nintendo
  2. It is NOT produced as a figurine only
  3. It can be used to multiple games, unlike Disney Infinity and Skylanders
If you think it only as a figurine or a toy, it will look useless. It's been burning almost all gamers' money. Why won't you want a handsome Link on your study table? For me, it's really cool having an option to have these babies.

Well, now the update is here! To be honest, Amiibos were created so that gamers that never had anyone over or didn't have any family members interested in playing games with them could have a sense of companionship. It sounds weird, but I'm sure it' at least partially true. If one of your favorite characters has an Amiibo, and you think you would use it, then by all means, go ahead and buy one. It's almost like watching a kid grow up. He started from Level 1 and now..*sniff*..he's Level 50...

I never use amiibos since I don't play the games that need them (and there aren't that many that supports amiibos. I do think they are cool as I love collecting figurines and these amiibos are more than figures! I don't really know how it works but probably very cool. Should try it sometimes.

Nope, I tell you amibbos are terrible. First of all, couldn't nintendo have given them a better name? amibbos sound like it is for a baby lol. They don't serve any good special purpose. However it is up to you. This is just my opinion

I think they're worth it. I have a gorgeous peach amiibo sitting in my house looking pretty. I'm not really a hoarder so I guess that's not important for me. But, for the collectors, amiibos are like cheap treasures. They want a whole collection for themselves, and can get it at a low price of 9.99+tax

At first, I though that I would never buy one at all, since they seemed pointless to me, and that changed on the day my dad bought me a Link amiibo. After that, I seeked to find a Toon Link (which I did) and currently waiting for the restock of Fox amiibos. They are very addicting for a collection. If you like to collect things, I guess they are worth it.

Personally speaking, I don't like them. You pay for a full version of a game and then have to pay extra just for a character or something of the sorts. I don't own any amiibos and don't plan to. I am not the type of guy to collect things or to pay for extras. I have seen how they are and all, but they all seem pretty uninteresting to me. That is my opinion though, so someone else's view of them may vary greatly!

I actually like collecting amiibos. It's fun and they actually serve a purpose. I have a Toon Link, a Mario, a Samus, and a Sonic amiibo and I plan on getting more of my favorite characters. Plus, it is fun to have something to collect. It's a good hobby. And I recently found out that my Samus amiibo is pretty rare so it might actually be worth a bit more in the future. You may never know what you have now that may be rare and valuable someday.

Heh heh. According to IGN, she's a unicorn.
