Are battle tactics the same between older and newer games?

So I've recently started playing Fire Emblem on GBA and I was curious if some of the following battle strats are still present in newer games like Awakening:
  • Weapon Triangle - Axes best lances, Lances best swords, and Swords best Axes
  • Unit Preservation - if a unit is defeated in battle then they are unavailable for all future battles.
  • Indirect Combat - Fighting from a distance using weapons such as tomes or arrows.
  • Visiting homes - Receiving tips or aid from visiting a home on the battlefield.
  • Trade items - if a unit is in need of something like a vulenary then they can retrieve it from another unit.
  • Staff users - Heal units without use of vulenary.
  • Terrains - A unit is affected in battle based on the terrain they are on.
I'm still learning the game right now so there may be more stuff I'll want to know later on.

I don't have much experience in the field but in FE Path of Radiance and Shadow Dragon, I believe all of them are available. I have no idea about the other games but I believe they should be similar. However both games I mentioned were after the age of GBA so I'm sorry if I am wrong.

It's been a while since I last played a Fire Emblem game, but I'm pretty sure these are correct for the whole series, including the GBA ones.

Yes, pretty sure this was introduced in Genealogy of the Holy War (FE4).

Unit Preservation - if a unit is defeated in battle then they are unavailable for all future battles.
True, except for in Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword's tutorial/Lyn mode.

Indirect Combat - Fighting from a distance using weapons such as tomes or arrows.
Present.

Visiting homes - Receiving tips or aid from visiting a home on the battlefield.
Present - houses in the GBA titles give information and tips, villages give items or characters with a few exceptions.

Trade items - if a unit is in need of something like a vulenary then they can retrieve it from another unit.
Present, except in Genealogy of the Holy War.

Staff users - Heal units without use of vulenary.
Present.

Terrains - A unit is affected in battle based on the terrain they are on.
Present.

I've played every game released in the US except Radiant Dawn, but I can confirm that all of these are exactly the same in the newer games (like Awakening) except for "Unit Preservation" (the proper term is permadeath I believe) and visiting homes.

In Awakening, permadeath is present if you play "Classic Mode" but there is a newer mode (introduced in FE12 I believe) called "Casual Mode" where the unit who "dies" in battle is ready to fight by the time you fight your next battle. In the newest game (which hasn't come out yet), Fates, Classic and Casual mode still exist, however they've included a new mode called "Phoenix Mode" which is, quite frankly, an insulting option. In Phoenix mode, if your unit "dies" they are out of commission for one turn before being revived.

As for visiting homes, houses no longer exist. There are only villages, and villages always give you either items or money. You can no longer visit houses for game tips, though.

I'm pretty sure they're all the change. Only new thing I can think of is pairing up
