Are Items to Cheap to be Used?

I have noticed after playing the demo for a week that many items are so op and unfair that they ruin competitive battles. A match becomes more of a "Who can get the pokeball, beam sword, etc. first" because whoever has it will absolutely wreck the other players. Also, the smash ball is returning broken as usual. I mean really, is there any character's final smash that won't one shot another player? I guess using these can be fun under certain circumstances, such as only using pokeballs to battle, but just in general I find most items ruin the experience :( What are your guy's thoughts?

Well, items always have been something fun in the SSB series, and don't see why the Smash Ball is "broken". It's an item that allows players/CPUs to use an attack that should KO an enemy easily, so, I wouldn't call it annoying, especially when you know that some of the Final Smash can be avoided really easily (Samus/Link/Mario's FS are easy to avoid), and for items like the laser sword, it's part of the game, and I do like it.

Items do improve the experience, they don't ruin it.

Items to me make the game more fun especially smash ball because everyone fights for it. :)
If you dont like items or is more competive play for glory online.

There is always the option to play with items turned off, but I really enjoy all the items. It's all completely random, and you have no idea what's going to appear next. :D

They nerfed the Final Smashes so they do a lot less damage.....

Items are optional, even in the demo. I personally don't mind items because they make smash battles extra challenging. Most items, if used correctly, can help you KO a player in the long run (except the ones that can instantly kill a player).

Items are a choice to the player. Although for less hardcore players they are no fun it is really the player who can get the item first gets the advantage which is fair and balanced. The items are far from OHKO at 0%. And items aren't super unfair because they might either limit you in some way or they can be caped or countered or shielded out of the way. After all the user cannot grab an opponent which is a very important competitive tactic so you might want to predict the item might be thrown at you if your opponent tries to grab or likes grabbing.

I love items, they make the matches more interesting and can turn the tables, making matches hard to predict.
