Are spikes underused in smash bros

Well if you don't know what a spike is in smash bros than it is basically an attack or ability that can launch your opponent downwards in a very fast manner. Well, the reason I'm making this thread is because I never see spikes used in super smash bros anymore. The spikes in super smash bros are one o the most important things to learn in super smash bros because it can help you finish a match very quickly or just troll someone if you are very good. The only downfall of that is that it is very hard to land at times when someone air dodges or if you aim is a bit off. So do you think spikes are underused in super smash bros.

Im not sure if it's underused so to speak... *cough @OopaMazo cough* ...but sometimes spikes are not the most optimal thing to do.

Sonics spike is very good actually. As long as you don't go too low.

I'd say to a degree they are. Every smash player knows how to utilize them, but like Robert said: they're not the most optimal (unless you have a character whose spike is low risk high reward). That's just the way I see it tho.

I try to spike most of my foes in matches, so I doubt Attack spikes are underused. (I almost thought you ment spikes the hazard, because those I think are underused in SSB.)
