Based on the number of topics in the Pokemon threads it would seem so - they far exceeds everything else! But does that mean they are the favorites of gamer's or just easier to talk about?

I made a poll that includes Nintendo's other most talked about franchises that have their own sections here - let's vote and see what the numbers show. I also left a room to vote for others like Donkey Kong, F Zero, Metroid etc.

I also think that Pokemon is the most popular forum section. But then I think it is also because people are putting Pokemon, their items and stuff like that on sale for play coins. You can see that even in Animal Crossing forum.
I like the Zelda series but I cannot say that Zelda is better than Pokemon. hey are both very good in their respective ways. :)

Pokemon is definitely the most popular game here, but it's probably because it's one of the few very popular ones that allows online interaction (trades, battling, etc.). Imo Legend of Zelda is a bit more interesting than Pokemon.

That's a good point. Pokemon does lend itself better to a community like this due to its online structure. That said, I tend to agree with you about Zelda.

Lol I can't select which game is more interesting.

And that's right. Pokemon does have a really good online structure and community. If only A Link Between Worlds had this feature of multiplayer battles instead of Shadow link......

Zelda has a much more expansive storyline and it's easy to add original ideas in there given how huge the timeline is.

Zelda games are meant to provide an amazing single-player experience, so it's not surprising that the multiplayer battle thing is like that. That said, they've done some cool things like the Tingle Bottle in Wind Waker HD that allows interaction with other players.

I guess Pokemon is being popular (with many features, accessible to everyone), thus many people still stick with this game. On the other hand, I think there are many games better in storyline, rather than Pokemon game series.

I have to agree. The Legend of Zelda series has a lot of action that keeps gamer engaged. Pokemon is fun and everything, but it can be beaten in 1-2 days. I feel that the excitement in Zelda games lasts longer.

Zelda probably is not top rated because it lacks online multiplayer. I'm not sure how that would even work in a Zelda game, but the battling and trading that comes with Pokemon keeps player coming back.

Yeah, the closest thing to online multiplayer you've got is the Tingle Bottles connecting to Miiverse on Wind Waker HD (although I think I've heard some rumors regarding online interaction for the upcoming Zelda U)
