For those of you who upgraded from a 2DS, 3DS or 3DS XL to a N3DS or N3DS XL, are you happy that you made the decision to make the upgrade or did you think you would have been better off with just your old system?

Maybe you couldn't trade in your old 3DS to make back the dough and forked out $200 for the new system and was disappointed that there weren't more exclusives such as Xenoblade Chronicles 3D. Maybe you rushed things and discovered the XL version couldn't swap faceplates. Maybe you just wanted the faster processing speed and amiibo support.

Whatever the reason, feel free to share it below.

I didn't upgrade as I don't have old 2ds/3ds system, but before n3ds was even announced I so wanted to buy old 3ds xl limited pokemon xy version (the red one). It was so pretty but so damn expensive in my country, so I decided to save some money on my own but in the meantime, n3ds was announced and I gave up on old 3ds xl and decided to go for n3ds, and I am really, really glad I did :cat:

My friend upgraded because he lost his old 3ds. He likes it a lot now especially since he has amiibo support and an amazing processor. He started collecting amiibos now since he has something that registers them lol.

Personally, I'm glad that I'm finally bought the New 3DS XL. Even though I was a bit disappointed that I didn't get to buy the regular New 3DS (due to its bundle being more expensive than XL ones, and also about availability), at least I don't have to deal with the Circle Pad which was coming off every time I play with my old 3DS XL anymore, so I'm happy with my New 3DS XL for now.

Admittedly, I never even bought it, I just got it as a 2015 X-Mas gift from my grandparents. I only upgraded since my old 3DS XL got stolen at school. I am also currently satisfied with the N3DS. :3

I am not happy. The only things it brings are Amiibo support but I don't use Amiibo (I have two of them but used them like 4 times in my life), exclusives but none that I find interesting and extra stable 3D but 2D has always been even more stable.

And the things it loses from the old 3DS are a circle pad on the right side (because it doesn't support the Circle Pad Pro and that weird tilting button isn't usable (smaller than the A button, so high that my nail hit the hinge before I am even on the thing)), and a way to disable wireless connection without going in a menu.

At the time of the upgrade I had a 2DS and so there weren't that many drawbacks. I got 3D, Amiibo capability, more space (at the time a HUGE plus) and the little circle pad. I don't use the circle pad much except for smash where it gives me a smash attack without me just sprinting off the stage so, I needed the upgrade and I'm happy I went on the spending spurge.

It seems as if people only upgraded because their old 3DS was broken or lost... :-/ I was hoping for some advise on whether to buy a N3DS XL. For now I think I'll stick with my old 3DS XL, since a friend of mine has a N3DS and it doesn't seem to be worth the upgrade. Yes, the 3D is a bit better and it might be slightly faster but I don't care about amiibos. If anyone can advise me whether I am right, it would be much appreciated though! :D

To be honest, I think you should stick with your old 3ds if you don't care about amiibos or Xenoblade Cronicles. Until there are some more exclusive N3ds games released, it's not realy all that worth of an upgrade :p

Thanks. :) And I got way too many other games begging to be played so Xenoblade Chronicles isn't on my to-do-list (yet).

Of course, it's only my opinion but glad I could help

Certainly nothing wrong with the New 3DS but I haven't seen any noticeable improvements nor have I played any game that uses the C Stick aside from MM3D. Pretty sure it was just Nintendo trying to cash in on one last hardware model before NX.

I was actually convinced to buy the new 3ds, and I lent one from a friend. After beating xenoblade chronicles 3d, the new 3ds was basically a enhanced experience of the 3ds. Not worth the 200 dollars for the new 3ds. The old 3ds was fine, and personally, people should buy a wii u over the new 3ds, especially if they already have the old 3ds or 2ds.

I do not mean to burst your bubble or anything, but the 3ds and wii u are not getting their succesors yet. The nx is entirely new, and I think Nintendo just wants to gain more reputation. The nx has nothing to do with the 3ds or the wii u. It is pretty disappointing, but that is what it is. Something to gain Nintendo more recognition, and for Nintendo to try other things.

Not to burst your bubble, but lemme burst your bubble. :p
Thanks for sharing your opinion, I was on the fence but you convinced me to not 'upgrade'.

I gotta say, I love the N3ds. It's good for those games that require more for the system. (Smash has less loading time, Pokemon has less lag with 3D, ect). I played the Hyrule Warriors Legends demo on an O3DS and it was okay. I then played it on my n3DS Xl and comparing both of them, the O3DS sucked compared to the N3DS.

Dude if you believe that, good for you. But you don't need to be saying it every time anyone mentions NX. The reality of it is myself and nearly everyone on the internet believes it'll come out in 2016, you don't have to agree with it.

I know, based on belief, people have been expecting a 2016 release. I guess we will have to wait till E3 to find out then

Well, I had to buy my 3DS with my own money. ;-; I've never owned a 3DS that came before the newest model, but the newest model has been working great so far!

I really need to upgrade. Starting to get tired of just having games sit on my shelf. Also need to figure out how to get my data off 3ds
