I guess the global testpunches were not enough. ARMS now has an offline demo you should be able to download from the Switch eShop as of typing this. Nintendo really wants people to buy more copies of this game :eyes2:

I'm going to download it later to try out.

Anyone tried the demo out yet? What did you think?

Yes. This is so good for arms. I look forward to learning what is in it, because having constant access to the game is a easy way for people to learn why its good. testpunch was good, but might not be enough for people to get used to the control scheme. Only problem is that if they include too much then maybe nobody will buy it.

I already own ARMS, so I don’t really need his, but still, I’m a little bit surprised that Nintendo is doing this, as they almost never do demos for these kind of games. But, I guess sales have probably dropped a bit in the past few months, so I guess I can see where Nintendo’s coming from. Still though, pretty cool!

Got a chance to try the demo just now.

1. It was too simple. The characters that battled me were too easy. They provided no challenge at all.
2. I'm not a fan of the controls. I hope you could modify what buttons do what in settings somewhere.

Online might be the only reason I'd even consider getting this game, but I'd rather change how controls are mapped.

Is there any other options than fighting with cpu? In the full version you can modify the controls, mainly if you are using just buttons. If you weren’t using motion I recommend trying it and practicing till you can do what you actually want to instead of being satisfied with whatever happens. Playing against real people is definitely better, as many of the ways to play involve mind games.

I do think 2 Players mode is also available in the demo by selecting The Basics (2 players), which begins with the tutorial at first and then followed by 2 different matches. I've tested one by using 2 of my Joy-cons, and you can switch the fighters after the first match is over.

Thats good. I highly recommend trying two player if you have access to four joycons.

You can change the controls now so what do you think now?

I tried the demo once and it's a hit and miss for me. I like the little movements and things you can do and the slight variety. It feels like whoever dodges more or attacks all the time can win. The stages don't feel competitive and I haven't tried online although the matching system I don't think is that great from what I've seen. It's new and original but it's going backwards in terms of 3D fighting mechanics.
