Attach a GameCube Controller to Your 3DS

If you're excited for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, you'll probably want to check out this new mod that connects a GameCube controller to your Nintendo 3DS for more precise controls... or maybe more comfortable controls... I'm not really sure what this is for.

There have been plenty of portable Nintendo 64 and GameCube mods in the past, but this controller-specific mod seems like it makes playing a 3DS into a huge pain. Don't sit with the 3DS flat on the table where you'll be looking down at it and hurting your neck. Don't sit with the 3DS on its side either. It's no matter what you do with this useful mod, you're gonna hurt yourself.

I'll probably stick with the standard controls. Things like this should be common sense. If the point is to control 3DS games with a GameCube controller, maybe you shouldn't set it up like the world's most awkward Virtual Boy.

I thought I would post this, just so see what people on here thinks of this.

I fell on it yesterday, but sadly, it uses the expensive capture card, and I doubt the guy will release it anyway.
Also, maybe Nintendo wouldn't want us to use a GC controller on a 3DS, I think.

But that's still a nice idea.
 
It sure looks neat but I don't think the 3DS even needs one. Sure it would be great in SSB4 on the 3DS however I want to see how well I can do with 3DS controls and it sounds expensive.

um...a huge controller for a small-ish handheld...nice idea but it don't think it will take off well and be successful, imo.

if they made a smaller version of the GC controller, then that could work out, possibly. :p
 
I think it's useful for the people who want to play hardcore Smash on the 3DS, but if that's their intent, then why not just use the Wii U? I guess this is just a mod for people to try out and have a little fun with. Its usefulness though will be extremely limited, especially if there is Circle Pad Pro support for SSB for 3DS.
 
That's amazing! Nintendo's GameCube controllers are by far the best they've made! I would love to make this happen for my 3DS for the upcoming super smash bros. Maybe after I'm done the N64 portable project I'll look into it a little, maybe I can do it myself! After I'm done my/and my cousins, Portable N64 I'm going to start production of a GameCube portable! So don't know if I'll get time for this or not...
 
This probably wouldn't be a bad idea for some people, especially if they like the GC controllers and prefer those to using the buttons on the 3DS. The only bad thing is finding a GC controller and remembering to carry one around with you when you want to play your 3DS. I'm not sure how I like the idea or not. I'm not sure what to make of it.
