Looks like those Twitter reports were accurate.Mantanweb is reporting Yūki Kaji (Eren), Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa), Marina Inoue (Armin), and director Tetsuro Araki took the stage at Shinjuku Wald 9 for the opening of the first Attack on Titancompilation movie and announced that the second season of the TV anime is being produced to run in 2016.
According to Crunchyroll, reports confirm that a second season for Attack on Titan is in production at the moment, and it is expected to be released/aired by 2016.
What are your thoughts? Are you excited for the second season? Let me know in the replies below.

Well, I'm not excited as I'm sure there will be a season 2.
I already read the manga up until the latest chapter as well and I don't think it is as interesting as the first season.
It is really interesting just after where first season ended but then so many political stuffs after that and it gets boring..

Yeah, but they have left some loose strings in the storyline, that are yet to be knitted. What happened to the Colossal Titan? What happened to the Armored Titan?

I guess I shouldn't set my hopes too high then =/

2016 is a long wait but then again, that's what I have been expecting.

If you mean the second season of anime, then the part right after the first season ended will be interesting. But if you meant the manga, I think it will takes a while longer for them to review things about those titans (as there is still some political/royalties thing going on now). And I doubt that the second season anime will go further than manga.

It might be more interesting than I thought. As the first season was yet to talk about the Colossal and Armoured Titan (if Iremembered correctly). And if the 2nd season ended just half way throught the manga then it will be a lot of action (titan fight and expedition outside the wall). So it is something to look forward to :)

HELL YEAH! I am hyped

>I see that the anime gets into the politics of the walled kingdom in the manga.

I'm much more interested in reading the manga, now. I like that kind of fiction.

I'm pretty excited to see the new season because I hate cliff hangers though i'm not excited over the realistic movie :/

I'm pretty excited for it, loong overdue
Hoping they might make an anime adaption of before the fall or the levi manga as well later on

I can't wait! I also can't wait for the live action movie! I just love Attack on Titan, sure it has its moments were it can drag down but I'm cool with it!
