Does anyone think the 3DS has dropped the ball when it's come to the use of AR cards? How many games have actually used the tech? Who would like to see more support, and how might it be used?

Honestly, I have not found (a genuine) enjoyment from augmented reality on 3DS yet. The camera is, you know...bad. You couldn't enjoy playing Spirit Camera with ghosts in a bright room, right?
The only excitement is that when you can walk around while using AR feature - I mean, sometimes it's tiring to sit down all the time, hehehe.
@POKEMON MASTER STRATEGIST has suggested about using AR feature to make YuGiOh monsters pop out. Yeah.

I saw some gameplay on the PS Vita's AR games, and I must say, sadly, it is better than the Nintendo 3DS, I'm not sure if it's the PS Vita's camera resolution or simply the technology implemented in the feature, but it's more smoother, and looks better. I haven't played much games myself of the AR feature, so you all can watch the PS Vita's AR feature, and let me know which is better:

Cool Beans.

The better camera of the Vita definitely helps. I don't enough to say if it's better overall ...

I wish Nintendo put some more effort toward AR - it seems forgotten.

I think it's because of the Vita's camera, who detects better the cards, that causes the "smoother" effect.
After, for the 3DS, we don't have that much games using the feature now... (at its release, they were many games, but now...)

But, for anybody who thinks that the 3DS' AR is over now, note that in a System Update, Nintendo could still update the AR code to make it better.

So, we just need better detection, and more games who exploit the feature, and believe me, the 3DS' AR will be much better than the one of the Vita. ;)

I for one would definitely like to see Nintendo bringing out some games/apps to take advantage of the AR technology. It was pretty cool in the PokeDex 3D app. I want it in games now.

Now that I've spent a few days playing Bubble Pop World, I can say it's a very good AR game! If any want to chat about this particular download, come visit the thread here.
