Are you asking for a fee before a battle? If so, the prize should be higher than what people are paying to fight.

If you charge three coins before the battle, and they lose. You get three coins. If they win, they essentially don't get anything.
If you're going to make a bet, make it fair for both sides. If you lose, the challenger get the same amount from you. Otherwise, it isn't really fair. :)
