How long does it take you to beat a Mario game?

For me, it depends. When I got Super Mario 3D Land for my 3DS, it only took be a couple of days to beat that game (and that's with me working full time). Most games though I take my time beating them because I don't want to get tired of the game too quickly.

For Lost Levels it was three or four day. For SMG2 it took 3.6 years but I played it off and on over that period and most of it was done in the first two years so the play time on it was 130-ish hours. On NSMB it took a few months. If I'm dedicated on a 2D Mario game it can be finished in 3-5 days however the GB ones can be completed in a few hours to half an hour. If it's a 3D one it depends on how it plays and the amount of content so if I had the time it would take me half a year I'd guess.

It depends on which series it is.

2D Mario games can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 7 or 8 hours. 3D Mario games usually take me around 12 hours to beat.

EDIT: I just checked and I beat Super Mario 3D World in 7 hours. Haven't played it any since, just ran through it.

Super Mario 64 took me a really long time to finish. You have to unlock over 80 stars to get to the final level. Before that, there are 2 other levels where you encounter the final boss (it's Bowser- shouldn't be a spoiler for anyone). There are also 3 character to unlock (which require their own sub-levels) and plenty of stars to collect. I tried to 100% the game because I thought Waluigi was unlockable (I was still pretty young) but I fell short about 10 stars. Other games these days take barely any time. New Super Mario Bros 2 can be beat in less than a day, which sort of diminishes its replayability in the long-term. Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii took a while though. I think the amount of time it takes to beat a game depends on both the game (3D vs 2D, level based or more open world) and the skill level of the player.

For a traditional 2D Platformer like Super Mario Bros 3, it would take me about a couple of weeks, somewhere around 2-3. For a 3D Platformer, like Super Mario 3D World, I would say a few months, since there is usually a Post Game that appears to be harder than the normal Game mode (Star World)

I don't play a lot of mario games, but I've done some speedruns on Super Mario Bros for the DS (1full day) and on Mario Kart (5hours).

For the typical New Super Mario Bros 2 on the Nintendo DS. It took me about a month to finish it completely 100%. Collecting stars were sometimes really tricky but I managed. Some of the levels were hard as well, but it was all very fun to do :cat: I still remember how much tried I had to do to beat the final level xP

For any MK game, I could beat it practically in a day, if I had the time :p

Not long for me either. If we're talking about game time-wise, I can complete a Mario game in a day. If in real time, it depends on how I'm feeling about playing a game. Tradition Mario games like Super Mario 3D Land or New Super Mario Bros. take me at least 2-3 days to beat because of me playing other games on 3DS or PS3. But Mario Kart games (if we're just talking about beating a cup or all of them) usually take me a couple of hours or 1 day depending on if I feel like playing any MK today.

3d land and new super mario bros 2 only took me 1 week to 100 percent, the games are really short. On 3d world or new super mario bros u, it took me literally around 85 hours each to 100 percent it. Mario kart 8 is my most played Mario kart game ever, there is just too much content! I played at least 100 hours of it so far, and on mk7, I played it around 35 hours before getting super bored of it. It just shows how much more lasting mario games are on consoles, much more lasting.

8/10 times i get the neo bowser city shortcut, what i do is i get the shortest start boost possible and go on the outside of the track so i get in 5th or 6th, then i mostly get triple shrooms, that applies to all tracks, and time trials you start with 3 shrooms

It might take me 9-10 hours for one of the 2D games. On the other hand, the 3D Mario games usually take much longer to beat, but are much easier. SMG, for instance, took me about 90 hours to fully beat.

I beat new super mario bros wii 100% in around a week. Nothing was too difficult. Mario games are quite easy and take little time to complete, unless you mean 64 DS. Galaxy 2 was decent, in a week I 100% it. Although, 3d world will take a while if you want to complete it because of all the stuff you need to do to 100% complete it
