Still annoyed...
Towns Folk
Well I went on a hunt with a broken weapon, without anything to fix it. And spent way too much time trying to hit the monster without doing any actual damage to it. Duh.

Spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to switch weapon, then told myself I probably can't switch equipment during a hunt. Then completed the mission via subquest, to salvage a bit of my dignity.

This game is hard for a noob alright.

It weeds out the weak :p

That's why we have communities of MH players helping people :D

I'm not sure that all these mistakes could have been helped through the community. I mean, it looks like the type of mistake you should do to learn =/

Yeah, mistakes are good for learning, but I was sayin that the community is here to help noobs because of how hard the game is on new players in general, not just when forgetting to bring whetstones :p

Ha alright XD

But yes, it's my first MH game aside from the Wii one, and it's not really a noob-friendly game, even though this one looks better on this than the previous games.

i've heard they tried to make the game more noob-friendly when they were designing it. i guess that didn't work :l also what do you mean about a broken weapon? was it one of the rusted weps or just a bad weapon?

I think she means she ran outta sharpness and didn't have any whetstones.

Yup, that's it Raptor ^^

And yesterday, after about 5 hours of gameplay, I discovered the Gathering Hall... I guess the game told me about it a while ago and I forgot to check on it at the time...

That's it, SunnyWindy's noob diary.

We can help you with those quests :D

Yeah I saw the introduction to Coop and Hunter for Hire, it looks quite interesting!

I just laugh at my mistakes and my learning process.

idk if this is just me, but when i started MHFU, i bought a ton of whetstones just because it said they "restored a weapons sharpness" which, to my soon disappointment, didn't mean you could make your weapon have higher sharpness than normal just by spamming them. (it took about 6-7 of them before i noticed. i knew close to nothing about the game then .-.)

It may seem a little hard at the beginning, specially the controls and how to hit the monster, I remember I spend like 20 minutes to hit a monster the first time i got to play mh on my wii system. then i recommended it to a friend of mine, and he spent like 45 minutes trying to hit the same monster. Give it a chance, the game is amazing!

I'm a noob as well. I accidentally went on a hunt with a broken weapon. I died in around 10 minutes. Maybe I will not play monster hunter any more. Lol. It is all about technique though. Like the insect glaive you have to try and mount the monster and use the kinesects to get stronger. And there are basic weopons such as the sword and shield... Anyway.. Good Luck.

actually the mount is only a small part of the IG. the only time i ever really use it is on flying or escaping monsters :l

Well, I have a hard time mounting, I never seem to succeed, I need more practice...

Hold the R button the entire time and when they start bucking, just stop mashing X or A (whichever one you're using).
