Personally I find the best way to beat almost anybody online is to use your main or be like every other little brat online and spam side b with dark pit/pit or you could use mewtwo but he is easily KO'ed

Spamming side b won't help a lot. It'll stale the move and reduce it's kill potential a lot. And about Mewtwo being KO'd easily, you have to use your shield and dodges correctly in order to avoid getting hit. The best thing to do is down b while an opponent tries to use a smash attack to stop them in their tracks.

The skilled players can crush the spammers. I'm not a skilled player. xD
If you spam you become easily predictable which equals death. D:
I've tried telling that to my sister who keeps spamming kirby's down air,

I recently mained Link after 1 match.
I currently have only lost 1 match with him and already have 9 wins either I mained link or the people
I've been fighting suck at smash
As for dark pit and pit I am sad to say that I've won matches by spamming Side b (for testing/research) Its really easy to avoid after I spammed the button a lot the other guy learned that all you gotta do is jump a lot.

There is a nice place prepared for desperate-to-win Smash spammers. Take on your opponent in a more sophisticated manner, rather than milking the life out of a single move. You're not going to become good at smash if you stick to a few moves, let alone not have any real combos lol.

I find certain spammers rather hard to counter depending on what attacks they're using and what character I am. Kirby gives me a hard time especially as Shulk and Pit's side B (Electroshock) is easily punishable once his attack ends.

Yeah honestly I would use robin to stop someone with arcfire then thoron and netureasu gives a really good advantage with the hp gain and the elwind gives good recovery if you time it right and the Levin sword smashes ayeyaeyae stop hitting me thAt hurts! Also meet so is really good and for recovery of you use the teleport right on the time you can avoid his attack when you are trying to recover then knock him from behind also confusion could work to knock him back and start a smash fest also even shadow ball fully charged can push you back if charged to max then hit him full power!

Usually,I tend to just give my competitive play online with my best three mains as of now, including Bowser Jr.,Yoshi and Wario. If I recall,I always send Mecha-Koopas walking on stage with Jr. as some sort of distraction, and I'm not sure whether you call that spamming or not.It makes me feel like I have to use them less often that way.
As for Yoshi, when they're a distance away from me,I use his Up-B to continually build up damage for like 4 or 5 shots, and then I stop.Wario on the other hand,I just remember using his aerial attacks the most.
Generally,if you're going to aim for victory while playing online, you're better off using your character's potential than relying on a single attack during the whole match.

Yeah I'm not sure that spamming would be the best option to win a match Mewtwo is pretty good as long as you can proc all the potential combos at the right time quite devastating indeed . Shielding and Grabbing at the right moments also help in winning .

Spamming side B isn't an efficient way. Remember, all side b are a tad slow or just moves that moves the players and usually have multiple inboxes and can be dangerous if used offstage or for means of recovery. It is also predictable since the foe can easily predict those types of moves.

I wouldn't play For Glory to milk wins. Play it to practice and hone your skills. But if you really want to, spamming isn't the way to go unless you can do it effectively, which I'm still not supporting. Best way to win is to train against bots and play a legitimate game in For Glory... Or you can find a player who sux and farm wins off of them. Not the noblest way to win, but it can work.

What I usually do in For Glory is choose my mains. I ususally don't use mains that have projectiles since they don't help much and I also avoid using Toon Link because if you miss on trying to grab your opponent with the hookshot, it leaves you wide open. So I use characters like Mario who have good air game and decent recovery.

Get to learn lots of combos and learn lots of match ups and get to know your character a lot more and learn its weakpoints and when its best to punish. And learn how to short hop and learn grab combos
