I have been wondering for a while, as I usually play with pretty short range characters. Whenever I go up against some guy who's using Zelda, Link (with boomerang, arrow), I just...die. Gimme your opinions please! I wanna hear how other people do.

Take advantage of your shield, ;) or use projectiles back at them to cancel it out.

Rosalina & Luma are an excellent team for projectile users in my opinion. Luma basically protects you from them and you can also use it to hit your opponent or distract them.

I agree with the Rosalina/Luma team, but other melees don't have projectiles really.. should I switch to a long range instead? I really dunno

You could try using greninja. I main greninja and whenever I go up against something like an arrow spamming link I just use his teleportation power or shadow sneak to get closer to the person faster so I can use melee attacks or grab him before he has the time to use his arrows. Or, you could try jumping with greninja to the opponent and using down b if they are in the middle of sending a projectile, or if they are just standing there then just use greninjas counter when you get close to them while falling down and you see they are about to attack you from below

Sonic could work against many projectile users since he can reach them the projectile is charged or thrown. His Homing Attack, Spin Dash, and Dash Attack can clank with many projectiles for example boomerang.

Falco's projectile is easiest to avoid by rolling through them. For Ness find ways to approach in the air to avoid fire. Get up close to prevent any PK Flash from finishing. Meta Knight can Down B projectile characters well if you know spacing. Just learn how to pressure people who use point blank projectiles because they aren't safe and play red light, green light for Toon Link and Link. The Kid Icarus fighter's projectiles can be overcome at close range with air attacks and are avoidable. Villager and Duck Hunt Dog are the easiest to punish because of startup lag on their special attacks.

Usually I use Sonic then use his homing attack while the person is under me or above me.
