As you know the 3DS family grows. TWO MANY ITEMS! They should just have a 3DS, 2DS, 3DS XL.
New 3ds? New 3ds XL? Ambassador? Wut in the :bag:. And the Ambassador gets GBA games! Wuuuuuut?!
Ahh goshhhh. Big family right? Agree with me! Wait, don't go. I'm not done yet! DON'T YOU GO OUT THAT DOOR! Hey! Heeeeeeeey! :brb:

I think there's a fair amount of 3DS products on the market. Especially considering 3DS has been discontinued for some time now and 3DS XL will surely follow soon.

Plus, North America doesn't have the regular New 3DS, so really we'll only have the New 3Ds XL and the 2DS to deal with here shortly.

It's a big family, but since the N3DS and N3DS XL are being marketed as semi-next-gen consoles and the Ambassador is just the original 3DS, I don't think it's particular overwhelming.

*goes in through the out door* :giggle:

Each time they announce a new 3DS model, it will have a small rise in sales which IMO, is good. It might be a bit confusing, but they all have their own cool purposes and it seems to be working, even if I wish they wouldn't have released 3DS XL so soon after I bought my 3DS.

I have a 3DS XL.
I know the 3ds hasn't been discontinued. It will be a while. The Wii lasted 7 years. The Wii U still alive. N64 about 4 years.
The New 3DS doesn't have special games for it. So why will the 3ds discontinue? It can't.
DS 6 years. So.................

The 3DS isn't discontinued.

@Paulie880 it is discontinued. They made the 2ds to replace the original 3ds. So basically there is 2DS 3DS Xl and there is NEW 3DS XL. But if you live in areas other than North America you also get New 3ds. There is only like 4 Consoles. 2 old consoles and 2 new consoles

So the 3DS XL, 2DS, and New 3DS family are not discontinued?

@Paulie880 nope only the original 3ds is discontinued. Nintendo stopped the production making of the Original 3ds

Then why do they still make 3DS games?

@Paulie880 so you can play on your 3ds XL or the 2ds. The just stopped the production of the original 3ds not the 3ds XL or 2ds

So many systems! Aha, I actually like the thought of all the options and I sort of wish the new one was in America....But hey it's Nintendo I'm sure they will have more DS systems out soon.

But with all the variety it's kind of unfair to those who just got a new system and then a new one pops up and then they have to go out and get a new one.

Yup, it is a big family. Biggest family in Nintendo yet (and who knows what nintendo has up its sleeve?) Some people consider the 3ds family and the new 3ds family to be separate. Then the families are not too big.
