Introduction

Before I start, I should mention that this team is not usable in Smogon's OU, is for BSR (Battle Spot Rules) 6v6, where Mega Blaziken is not banned.

Anyways, I´m going to tell you a story:
Few months ago, there was an Anime-Videogame Expo in my city, in which there was a Pokémon tournament with singles BSR

Since the first place prize were some hats (a Minish Cap hat, a Torchic hat and a Lucario hat) I wante to win, so I decided to breed a team based around one of the three most powerfull megas in BSR, wich are Kangaskhan, Blaziken and Salamence.

I have already made a Mega Sceptile team and a Mega Swampert team, so i wanted to give Blaziken a try this time Ü

The goal of the team is simple, get the opposing team weakened enough so you can sweep later with Blaziken

Teambuilding Process

blaziken-mega.png

I started putting Mega Blaziken in the team (obviously), and really there are only 3 things that can really stop a Mega Blaziken sweep: SE Priority, Focus Sash (and Sturdy), and Ghost types (they stop you from Spamming HJK freely)

forretress.png

What is Hyper Offense best friend? Hazards. What is my favourite hazard user? Forretress

Ugh... Honestly, I don't like Rotom-W (His design is just... ugh, I preffer mow or normal), but he fits sooooo well in this team thanks to being a Pokémon that can handle any Pokémon that is a threat to Mega Blaziken and can give me momentum with Volt Switch.

Ok, I have hazards up, and I don't want them to get cleaned, so these two can really help me with that.
Gengar spinblocks anything that tries to spin, and Bisharp is a threat to anything that tries to defog them, and can trap ghost wich are a problem for HJK users like Blaziken.
Also, they make a really good offensive and defensive core, so... Wynaut?

Finally, I didn't know what to put at the end, so I tried a Stoutland that I breed some time ago, and it worked really well and is really fun to use too.

The Team

mega_blaziken_by_n_kin-d6hdl01.png

Mega Ban-iken (Blaziken) (M) @ Blazikenite
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 92 HP / 252 Atk / 164 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz
- High Jump Kick
- Swords Dance / Hone Claws
- Protect

I remeber when him and Mega Lucario were everywhere in the first months of XY, now you barely see them... but they are still a threat in BSR, specially Blaziken.
Mega Blaziken can 1v1 so many Pokémon, and if you give him a single free turn is GG, making him one of the best late game sweeper in the game.
In the tournament I used Sword Dance, but Hone Claws can give you that HJK safety, but you need more teamwork to weaken the opposing team.
164 Speed are just enough to outspeed Adamant Excadrill in the sand at +2 at level 50, while the rest are in HP (Thanks for the idea mourning_sun)

pokemo463.gif

Flash Fire (Forretress) (M) @ Custap Berry
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Explosion
- Rapid Spin

Lead with him, put some Hazards, spin your opponent's hazards away (Min Speed is so you can spin the hazards after your opponent sets them in your field, and when you are at Custap range, you can put more hazard or just go BOOOM!!
Stealth Rock breaks any Sturdy and Focus Sash of anything that is not Alakazam, wich helps for the Blaziken sweep.

479-wash.png

Standardmon (Rotom-Wash) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 208 HP / 252 Def / 52 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

This thing is the nightmare of the two Pokémon that really scares Blaziken: Azumarrill and Talonflame, and he can also handle Mega Kangaskhan, Mega Blaziken and Physical Mega Salamence, the set is enough to outspeed max speed Azu at level 50, and Rocky Helmet is there to get some chip damage, The rest is pretty standard.

gengar.png

Yami (Gengar) (F) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 12 HP / 244 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hex
- Will-O-Wisp
- Substitute
- Taunt

And this Pokémon is my spinblocker and anti-lead
I choosed a Stall Breaker set because I realized how weak I am to Trick Room (shoutout to mourning_sun for pointing it out) and Sticky Web, and this set not only deals with the things that my old set used to deal, but also deals with those 2 problems I just pointed out
The HP is to get 5 Substitutes at level 50

Also... I changed the Nickname too :p

625.png

Is a Bishop (Bisharp) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
- Pursuit
- Low Kick

The Defog Punisher, Bisharp.
Jolly is to outspeed and OHKO opponent Bisharps, while the Life Orb is to maximise power.
He can easily switch in against most ghost types, and trap them, wich is good when you are using HJK.

508.png

Scrappy Doo (Stoutland) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Retaliate
- Superpower
- Ice Fang
- Pursuit

Do you know what is my favourite move in the entire game?

Retaliate

Stoutland just comes in and get a kill

Did you killed one of my teammates? RETALIATE!!
You are ghost type, inmune to my Normal STAB? TOO BAD, I'M SCRAPPY!!
Trying to switch into Aegislash to resist the move? SUPERPOWER THAT THING!!
Gliscor? ICE FANG IN THE FACE!!
Trying to escape? PURSUIT, B*ITCH!!!!

Importable Sets

Mega Ban-iken (Blaziken) (M) @ Blazikenite
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz
- High Jump Kick
- Swords Dance
- Protect

Flash Fire (Forretress) (M) @ Custap Berry
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Explosion
- Rapid Spin

Standardmon (Rotom-Wash) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 212 HP / 252 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump

- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

Yami (Gengar) (F) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 8 HP / 248 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hex
- Will-O-Wisp
- Substitute
- Taunt

Is a Bishop (Bisharp) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
- Pursuit
- Low Kick

Scrappy Doo (Stoutland) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Retaliate
- Superpower
- Ice Fang
- Pursuit

Old Sets

mega_blaziken_by_n_kin-d6hdl01.png

Mega Ban-iken (Blaziken) (M) @ Blazikenite
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz
- High Jump Kick
- Swords Dance / Hone Claws
- Protect

gengar.png

Spinning? (Gengar) (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Shadow Ball
- Sludge Wave
- Hidden Power [Fire] / Focus Blast
- Trick

And this Pokémon is my spinblocker and anti-lead
Timid Nature is because Gengar wants to be fast even after you Trick the Choice Scarf to a spinner or a Stealth Rocker.
Shadow Ball and Sludge Wave are here for STAB, while HP Fire is for damaging Ferrothorn, Skarmory and Forretress. You can use Focus Blast over it, but the 70% accuracy sucks.

Other Ideas

blaziken-mega.png

  • You can run Jolly over Adamant, in wich case, use 68 Speed and 188 HP EVs, so you have the same speed and more HP, so you get more bulk to set up
Blaziken-Mega @ Blazikenite
Ability: Speed Boost
Level: 50
EVs: 188 HP / 252 Atk / 68 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- High Jump Kick
- Swords Dance
- Protect
forretress.png

  • You can run Ferrothorn over Forretress, since Ferrothorn deals better with Rain, gives me more switchings, and doesn't explode XD
Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 84 Def / 172 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip
  • Using Garchomp over Forretress is great too, Garchomp is like THE rock setter of Hyper Offensive teams, and in this team helps too, handles Sand teams really well, is a great offensive Pokémon, and deal with threats like Talon once Rotom is gone... I may change my Forretress for this Garchomp actually
Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
Level: 50
EVs: 236 HP / 180 Def / 92 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Dragon Tail
- Fire Blast

Conclusion

I WON THE TOURNAMENT!!! and I got my hats Ü

Stoutland worked better than I even expected to work, and sometimes, I didn't even needed to use Blaziken at all to win!

And that is my team... tell me what do you think about it in the comments, any suggestion is really apreciated, and sorry for my bad english :p

Take Care Ü

It's good that you won, it's a strong team, however, I must admit that I dislike how predictable so many of the Pokes are here. I personally prefer to be a bit more tricky when I play, and by that I mean even in OU, I prefer to make builds that aren't obvious at a glance. For instance here's a breakdown of Dominle III, my Mega Blaziken. He's Jolly with a spread of 252 HP/248 Atk/10 Spd with the moves High Jump Kick, Protect, Blaze Kick, Bulk Up, and the ability, Speed Boost. Jolly Mega Blaziken's speed stat with max IV's and no EV placement caps at 259, which in turn, speed ties with neutral base 80's. 10 EV's is enough to outpace them before a Speed Boost, while after one boost a stat of 261 becomes 392 and outpaces more than 90 percent of the metagame. Given that speed is guaranteed with Protect and one Speed Boost, it only makes sense to make Blaziken as bulky as possible, which is why I justified giving 252 HP EV's, and besides that, defensive bases of 80/80/80 are extremely usable. With 1 Bulk Up Blaziken is quite tough and takes a minimum of two hits to take down, usually more. Pair him with any Heal Pulse user and he'll stay around for days, endlessly getting stronger.

The point I make with this is, although this team is very strong, it's predictability is it's weak point, and anyone who notices would be very capable of owning you. For instance, if you ended up against some type of Trick Room weather team, nothing would save your team as it is, they would go down with out much effort from the other side and I'm just not about that. For me, if don't shock my opponents before the win (I.E. "Why is this Blaziken still alive?"), I won't be satisfied with my own victory, so I'd suggest to you that your next team be a little less gimmicky.

BTW, Choice Scarf Scrappy Stoutland was a great idea.

BTW, Choice Scarf Scrappy Stoutland was a great idea.

Wow, I like your Blaziken spread, I use full speed M-Blaziken mainly because (at least here in Chile BSR) Choice Scarf users are quite common, since here in Chile the metagame is really offensive, but I might try your set, or a variation of it

But something I kinda dislike is Bulk Up in Blaziken (at least in Jolly sets), If I ever run Jolly Blaziken, I would use SD, and the defense boost Bulk Up seems kinda pointless, because Blaziken was no way to recover HP, and the point of the team is trying to get OHKOs at the late game.

The HP boost is really helpfull while setting up, and then sweep after a single SD, but with Bulk Up, you need more turns to set up, and Defense boost would be only helpfull WHILE setting up (since after that, everything should get outspeed and OHKO), unless there is a Azumarill or Talonflame alive in the opposing team, in wich case, I would never send out Blaziken until those two are completely gone XD
actually thought about using a Bulk Up Drain Punch Blaziken, with SpDef Investment, but then I need like 4 Bulk Ups to get near the power of SD HJK, wich is not good idea since there is A LOT of threats that can get in and kill me or even set up while I'm bulking up... so I dropped the idea

Also
Pair him with any Heal Pulse user and he'll stay around for days, endlessly getting stronger.

How I'm supposed to do that in singles? XD

Anyways... abou the rest

I forgot completely about Trick Room while making this team (and Sticky Web, since my only spinner is a Exploding Bug!), so I'm making some changes to my Gengar to fix that!!! TY

About weather teams... The only one that gives me problems is rain (Since Sun boosts Flare Blitz and the Pokemon that are common in Sun teams are not exactly "Fireproof", Sand is not really a problem, I only need 2 Speed Boosts to outspeed every sand sweeper in the game, while the rest of my team can handle Sand Streamers and Sand Abusers quite well, and Hail... is Snack time for Blaziken), since the only Pokémon in my team that handles Rain effectively is Rotom... but I can work around that :p

About the predictability... there is not much I can do about that... I can't change Rotom-W too much without losing to something... the same goes for the rest, but, even if my opponent can guess what I'm doing, he still needs to deal with them... for example, even when everyone knows what GothStall does, we still have problems against it...

Not knowing what your opponent uses is a big deal in Pokémon, that's why Pokémon like Lando-T, Charizard and Clefable are so good... you never know what they are going to do, but when you are playing Hyper Offense, you trade off that unpredictability for some sheer power, and that makes HO so fun to me, you need to make plays all the time to cath up to your opponent, and pretty much every decision can change a win to a lose.

Your opponent pretty much knows every single set you are running, but he still have 6 threaths to deal with, wich put the opponent under the pressure to not lose or get to weakened any of his switchings or is GG, wich sometimes can be even more scary than not knowing what your opponent is going to bring, but knowing that you can handle it anyways... and that's why I love Hyper Offense

Well, thanks for your suggestions, I'm already making new sets for Blaziken and Gengar!!!, I will edit them a soon as possible (and fix those damn sprites... again... Y R U SO BIG!!)

Take Care!!! Ü
