A week ago,I found about a new type of 3ds that's supposed to be coming out to play more stronger content games.I really didn't care, because I would probably still be playing Smash Bros.,lol. XD But later on,I found out about all the content Nintendo was putting into Smash Bros.,and it got me worried.Could we still play Smash Bros. on our original 3DS systems,or would we have to actually get the other 3DS to play it? I barely got this one,so I'm hoping they'll sort it out. D:

Seriously, they have already done the mistake of nullifying the Circle Pad Pro on the game, so unless they're trying to become the worst gaming company of 2014, SSB4 should be 3DS(XL)/2DS compatible, no doubt about it.

The only advantage to use a N3DS on the game will be for the "C-Stick".

You heard about that too? Wasn't that just about the most ridiculous thing you've ever heard? I mean, why would you remove a function off the 3ds that was supposed to be there in the first place!? -_-" (Btw,sorry for the late response, internet was acting trippy)

No you wont, they are going to release it way before that new 3DS even arrives in the market here in the states.

But it does kinda makes me upset that I will have to buy the same handheld to be able to play the next games. It better be able to play normal 3DS games and hope that eshop purchases in the past can transfer so I don't have to pay again for my games.

(I have so many virtual game consoles that I'm pretty sure I wont play unless there is a lack of games in the market ;3)

@Tronophono:True,I mean I just barely got this 3DS I'm using now,so seeing that you'll have to buy another one just to play stronger content-games,I probably won't see that happening for a few years. :/ And I sure hope you can transfer your virtual console games if you decide to buy the new 3DS,cuz that wouldn't be right if Nintendo doesn't make it happen. :p

There could be a Strong chance of people buying a New 3DS to play this game and you got the people that are gonna upgrade as well. Also besides that you can use the C-stick on the new 3dS for Smash, Also you can only go out of the game and use the Miiverse app and Internet app on the New 3DS, Not the Original 3DS.

@OmegaCaius:So there's a strong possibility that they could buy it to play Smash Bros.Yeah, you're probably right about that.People upgrade whenever they get the chance, which will probably suck for me because we don't usually get new Nintendo items until a few years after the price has lowered... :( Fustraited face, lol.

Yes, you can play Super Smash Bros. 4 on the original 3DS. The only thing that is not present on the regular 3DS is the support for a second Circle pad, whereas the New 3DS model has the support.
It isn't a problem for me because I find the controls to be perfectly feasible on the regular 3DS, even without the second C-Stick.

I figure the 3DSXL is more than good enough for Smash and a lot of streamers say that it's very comfortable. But I wouldn't be surprised if there's a big Smash bundle when the N3DS comes out.

@AliTheAce:So that'll be the only thing that won't be compatible with Smash? Shoot,I can make that work, lol. After all,we gamers evolve, and adapt. (My gaming quote.I don't know if it's been taken yet. XD ) @Ashkil:Oh,I never thought about that! :0 It's true, when a new system comes out, they usually have a bundle that comes out.Btw,I use a regular 3DS,and yeah, when I played Resident Evil:The Mercenaries 3D,it became uncomfortable after a few rounds, lol.

@P2.0

Some games that can be used with the c stick are pretty uncomfortable if you don't have one.

Tell me about it! I wonder how Smash will be without the use of one? That, and playing with an iffy R button. (I sorta mashed it pretty hard when play RE.

I think you can use the L button instead. Anyway the controls are completely customizable so don't worry about it.

I am pretty sure that we won't have to buy the N3DS to play super smash bros because the N3DS is going to release next year most probably and SSB is releasing this year only so I know that we won't have to buy the N3DS to play the game... I also think that the new games would be compatible with all four consoles the 3DS/XL, 2DS and the N3DS...

Yes,thank you customizations! :D So basically, everyone here says that we won't end up having to buy the N3DS for Smash Bros. That's a relief to hear,I don't need a new one right now anyway,I'm good, lol. :p Thank you all for your comments on the matter! :D

There would be some kind of gaming riot if SSB was made an N3DS exclusive :p

The dual-stick functionality and Miiverse features are exclusive to the N3DS, but the rest of the game will be playable on original 3DSes :cat:
