Here's a guide to Captain Falcon's moveset, and will include tips and tricks for him in battle.
Let's start with his moveset and damage to hence have a idea of his moves:
Attack:
His neutral attack is two punches followed by a knee, punches are 2 damage, and the knee is 5. (Note: He does have a infinity jab with 1 for every punch in the loop, and 2 for the finish.)
His side tilt is a roundhouse kick worth 8, 9, or 10 damage depending on the way you land it. If you hit the opponent facing diagonally up or down, if the foot hits, it does 10 damage, but if the leg hits, it does 9. Hitting the opponent straight will do 9 for foot and 8 for leg.
His down tilt is a sweep kick worth 10 damage.
His up tilt is axe kick doing 11 damage.
His dash attack can do 6 damage (late) or 10 (clean).
Smash: (Note: Varies by how you charge it.)
Forward Smash can do 19 or 20 damage depending on which direction, 19 for straight, and 20 for diagonally.
Up Smash varies between 19 and 23, haven't tested it a lot tbh.
Down Smash does a 2-sided hit, the front doing 14 damage, and the back 18.
Aerials:
Neutral aerial does 4 damage on first kick, and 6 on the second.
His forward aerial or knee smash does 19 damage (clean sweetspot), 6 (clean sourspot), or 3 (late).
His back aerial does 14 (clean) or 8 (late).
His up aerial does 12/13 (clean), or 10/12 (late).
His down aerial does 14 damage.
Specials:
Neutral special is a Falcon Punch. Also, if you turn the opposite direction after you use this move, you can do a Reverse Falcon Punch. This move can either do 25 damage (ground), 28 damage (ground reverse), 22 damage (air punch), or 25 damage (air reverse punch).
Side special is called Raptor Boost. It deals 9 damage on ground, and 8 in air.
Up special is called Falcon Dive, and is a recovery move. Deals 5 damage when he grabs on, and 12 when he explodes off. You can also reuse moves if you land this.
Down special is a Falcon Kick. Honestly, this move can do too many different damages, so I'm just gonna label 7, 11, 13, and 15 as the range.
Grabs:
His Pummel (grab + A) does 2 damage each.
His forward throw does 9 damage.
His back throw does 9 damage.
His up throw does 7 damage.
His down through does 6 damage.
Other:
When he is knock down, you can do an attack and get up. Doing this forward does 7 damage, and his back does 6. When he trips, his attack recovery move dose 5 damage. When he's hanging on the ledge and attacks back on, it does 7 damage.
Phew. That's over. Took like 1 hour to write it. Now on to the tips.
So, the Captain is pretty quick and powerful. Leave combos on the enemy without taking a hit. Try throwing forward/back, dash attack, then knee smash for a nice combo. Honestly, all his moves are really good for combos. Raptor boost ground can start a good juggle. Also, meteors are really easy to land. His down aerial can meteor and immobilize your opponent for a second. Up tilt can meteor enemies in the air, so wait for them trying to recover and hit them with it. Running at your foe, short hop, and dair can do a nice 14 damage. His Falcon Kick is useful for people who like to stay away from you and charge the moves because it can cancel some projectiles. However, air Falcon Kick does have a 1 second ending lag, so use it wisely. If you run and grab someone, you can slide, so use that to your advantage. Now for his trademark falcon punch. This is very hard to land. Your best hope is to air reverse punch, and catch them off guard.
