I know it's video game related, but I couldn't decide of a place to post it, since it concerns all systems who use cartridges. (So, @Marc, if you think it's not the good place, feel free to move it, thanks!)

Who never had fun tilting them while the game is running ? We all know that it makes the console crash in most of the cases, but, there's some games where you actually want to tilt the cartridge...
Like, GoldenEye 007 (N64), for instance:

Of course, the music was added, it's not the game's soundtrack.
Cartridge tilting/corruption has become popular on Youtube too, at the point where Vinesauce (an user), made his channel, on which they are corruptions of games! He even found a way to corrupt Mario Kart DS's Data, which resulted in messed up textures, characters, and... living walls.

So, if you ever had fun doing this, feel free to share what happened !

To live dangerously is... XD

You can do it on both physical consoles and emulated ones. Here's a tip for emulating a cartridge tilting:
Pick the game you want to tilt.
Pick a 2nd game, make a savestate of it.
Back to the first game. Whenever you want, load the 2nd game's savestate.
Enjoy !

I have tried it on GoldenEye 007, and it worked, but 5 seconds after, the program ends.
Also, watch out, Genesis/MegaDrive games don't really like it, and they emit a not-so-agreable static noise.

I never really subjected any of my consoles to this cruel usage :p but now I'm curious and want to try it out, at least with emulators. Thanks! :D

Really but do they break the cartbridge

Super mario 64 on tilt was the best.

Depends the way you do it. Don't go crazy, though.

Super mario 64 on tilt was the best.
Indeed, though GoldenEye 007 remains a classic of the tilting. Because of the meme it created.

You can do this on any emulator that supports save states. Even the PS1 ! Now, enjoy see the game crash in many ways !

I'll do it with LSD Dream Emulator, then, you recommended it to me anyway.

Wouldn't make a difference given how weird that game is already :p

Even messed up graphics ? Oh, wait... Everything can't be messed up since how it is already :D!
However, I have heard that on Spyro games it remove all the textures !

I don't know if it counts, given that it's not a cartridge game, but I once put my badly-scratched disk of Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror in my PS2, loaded up a level, and believe it or not, some of the textures in the area were missing and had GREEN SMILEY FACES in place! I think the developers put the smiley faces under the textures just for the lulz. It was hilarious :p

Yes, it may count, as the game didn't load properly, so I can consider it as a "Disk Tilting"... Might be fun, though.
Wait... I have to see if Super Smash Bros. Melee can do the same as GoldenEye...
Massive Nintendo Break Dancing, lol !
