If anyone who plays SSB4 mains the Villager from Animal Crossing: New Leaf, this will surely be of help for you. ;)
Tagging @Artisan as I've seen him use Villager :p

Did you know that Villager is COMPLETELY invincible while performing his neutral-B move, the Pocket?
When you perform his neutral-B move, you will see the Villager whipping out his hand and putting it in his pocket. Don't regard this as a useless move, as if used properly, this can make damaging Villager a living hell.

When to use this move:
  • When recovering
  • Instead of a dodge
  • When the enemy is using a charged-up move
  • When the enemy is trying to edge-guard you
  • When the enemy is trying to hit you with a powerful projectile, such as Bowser Jr's cannonball or Mega Man's front smash.
This can also be used to really cripple your opponents who depend on items, such as R.O.B who depends on his probe-like thing, and Wario, who depends on his motorcycle, Bowser Jr's Mechakoopa, and even Diddy Kong's banana!
When the opponent is trying to attack you with an item that belongs to their own character, you can simply Pocket it with VIllager! And here's the fun part: They won't be able to spawn that item until Villager gets KO'd! :D
If done properly with the right timing, Wario's motorcycle will be confiscated, R.O.B's probe will be confiscated, and they won't be able to spawn it!
However, one thing to note is that the Villager cannot keep the items in his pocket for more than 30 seconds. Otherwise, they will return to their opponent. To keep the item for longer, simply take it out and put it back in.
Villager's pocket range is ENORMOUS. He can pocket from the front, back, the air, and even an arrow that went straight through him!
Plus, if you pocket a projectile, it will be 1.5x MORE powerful than it originally was! So, if you see a Lucario trying to land that Aura Sphere kill, pocket it and counterattack!
This can also be used to avoid an aerial attack by using the B-Reverse, a technique in which you push the circle pad in one direction, and then the B and circle pad in another direction, simultaneously.

Villager laughs in the face of even Little Mac's KO punch, which can simply be dodged by pocketing it!
(Little Mac's KO punch CANNOT be blocked by your regular shield)

There is, however, a drawback: Villager is vulnerable to attacks that last long, such as Lucina/Marth's Dancing blade, or Bowser/Lemmy/Morton's drill.

Use it wisely, and happy trolling!

See Ness recovering with PK Thunder? Pocket it, and see him fall into the abyss :p

The video for examples and proof:

Nice. Does it still do that now? because I think I seen that before the update. And Olimar's down special has some kind of invincibility I think if it hasn't changed from Brawl.

Oh, yes! It still does work, I have tested it myself. (I probably shouldn't have told you about this, as you'll use it against me now xP)
Go ahead, destroy them all in For Glory! :p

it wont work anymore

Works for me still... very helpful in tourneys. :)

It's an interesting move overall. It's always nice when your getting juggled you just pocket to keep yourself safe. Pocket dodges and counterattacks can all be done with that villager. He always seemed so innocent in the games, but now he is pocketing a person's-probably-expensive Bike

i can't remember how many times i've won against my friends by using this. one of them won't even try to fight me when i use villager against him, he just self destructs right at the start :cat:

This was pretty cool and uselful

You can actually pocket trees so when you are facing someone who can turn things around like Mario's cape and Fox's reflector, pocket the tree and instantly use it! I got someone in For Glory doing that :p Oh and this meme XD

Those are some great tips and I play Villager quite alot because it is simply fun to play him because of that cool " Pocket Move " that makes him so unique . and thanks for the other facts like how long he can hold the items and the invincibility that he gets when doing it . That video was also informative too . I never used to main Villager but now reading this I think I might as well do so :) . Now I like playing Villager against Mega Man cuz I could pocket almost all of his projectiles :cat:
