Super Smash Bros WII U added a lot of character, and ditched a few (sorry lucas). But not all are created equal. Recovery would mean that If you were in a bad situation, such as falling off the stage, you could quickly recuperate/retaliate. An example of good recovery is kirby. Too high up on stage? Down special. Fell off the stage? Jump 10 times.

Little Mac, Ganondorf, and Ness have the worst recoveries. Ness's up special can leave him vulnerable to an attack (unless he hits himself then he's not unless he free falls) or hard to recover if forced to resort to it. Not to mention he is open to spiking or if the up special hits someone he'll fall straight down. Little Mac naturally has poor recovery options and Ganondorf is so heavy he's resistant to a lot of knockback so that's understandable. (Seriously you haven't heard Lucas is coming back as DLC? He'll have a great recovery tether option like he did before).
Since the characters all have buffed recoveries in general it shouldn't really be hard to get back on that stage with any character that's not DK or the ones mentioned.

When I see the words "worst recovery" the first thing that comes to mind is Little Mac. His Up B doesn't go up as high as it needs to like you would think he'd make it but nope he barely misses. Same goes to his Side B, it does give some horizontal recovery but if you're launched sideways there's practically no chance of surviving. Not to mention his Side B makes him go into free-fall so that alone makes it useless. Plus he's not that hard to edge guard either, just Nair him once or twice then you're good. And also Lucas is coming as DLC this june...

Link's recovery in the 64 is the worst one :p , but thats already in the past, Little mac has the worst one but not as bad as the old Link though, yes Ganondorf and Ness have very bad/vulnerable revoveries (thats why they are overpowered), plus Lucas is already coming back as DLC on June silly. It was announced in the Nintendo Direct on April first (don't let the date fool you!)

Yup , just as np2016 said , the first thing that comes to me when asked a question like this would definitely be little mac :p I mean seriously , :p I also think that Mario has a rather ineffective recovery as well , using it could leave him vulnerable , and it doesn't go very far . Still though , it IS better than the others :p

Mario's is fine though. He doesn't flinch from it at all actually. A mega man tried spiking my friends mario once and the down air hit mario while he was in the up b motion and it didn't spike it. He bodied it :0. Mario is probably at his best in this smash compared to any other in my opinion

Depending on the custom move set for the Miis, they can have pretty terrible recoveries. One example is the Mii Brawler's Helicopter Kick - This move is similar to DK's recovery move in terms of how high it makes your character go.

Mario's cape can help his recovery so I wouldn't say he's not good at recovering. Luigi can combine side b with down b and up b for his recovery and Dr. Mario can combine down b with up b for a recovery. Combining specials helps a lot with some characters for recovery.

And the trade off is insanely good killing power.

We all know that Little Mac has one of the worst recoveries ever, but lets give him a break. I think that Ness's recovery is bad, for me. You need to have great accuracy and even hit Ness at the right angle. Not to mention that it gives you pressure since Ness falls if you use this in the air. Even watch out for obstacles.

Little Mac is definitely the guy with the worst recovery. He can't even get up so high, he might use 3 jumps to get to the same height that another character made 2 jumps. Usually it is actually very hard to knock down a player off, even with very large knockback, but a little mac usually has a different story :p

Little Mac of course! Little Mac has the worst recovery in the whole roster. His winding punch is just as better than his small pathetic jumps. Also, he can compensate that with his sub-par wall jump, I guess.

Little mac definitely! He has the worst recovery in the whole super smash bros franchise! Even worser than Links up recovery in brawl. And Link hd one of the worst recoveries in super smash bro brawl
