After 2 years, I'm Back!
Towns Folk
I've been using Cloud ever since it's release and I can share my thoughts on him lol

Cloud, has the move set of a lot of Fire Emblem Characters (Side + B = Dancing Bladish attack [Kyo] but it has to connect on its first hit otherwise it won't continue, Up + B = Aether much? and activates 2nd follow up like Shulk) the only difference are its Neutral + B acts like a slow Arc Wind moving horizontally and its Down + B = Limit Charge(Works like Little Mac's KO Punch but feels like Monado Arts tbh).

Cloud's Launching Power for almost all of it's attacks are monstrous. It's Forward Smash has enough knockback to KO at 85ish and above percentage. Down Smash works a lot like Toon Link's, Up smash just has a lot of coverage especially that hit box around 120* degrees or so it's nothing to phone home about lol. But the highlight of this character is his Broken Gimmick, Limit Break (pun intended lol).

With Limit Break On, Cloud's special moves (B) gets buffed dramatically.
Up + B = Will get buffed to the point that it'll make the best Vertical recovery move in the game (Totally based on my opinion)
Side + B = Has a lot of Launching power but I rather not gamble on this for a KO move as there are far more better ones
Neutral + B = It's "Arc Wind" will move faster and if it hits your opponent, it'll be a multi-hitting attack with decent launching power
Down + B = Has got to be my favorite move, Finishing Touch! lol It'll only make 1% damage but it's launching power is enough to KO around 60% (I'm more confident if their percent reaches around 70%) lol

Pros:
- High launching Power
- Can bring in high damage early in the game (Forward Smash deals 21% uncharged as Marth's Sweet spot Forward Smash, uncharged deals more or less 19% damage and it's already the sweet spot! The tip of the sword!)
- Can wall jump: yay! More means of recovery lol
- His hitbox are placed well : Especially that Forward + Air (FAir) He can meteor smash there pretty easily

Cons:
- Horizontal recovery worse than Little Mac : Sure, neutral + B can let you float horizontally, but can it save you when you get thrown out farther? lol Little Mac at least can let you go farther from his Side + B lol
- Vertical Recovery too "open" : When I say "open" I mean that you can get Down smashed while near the ledge easily. Cloud won't snap on the ledge until it's Up + B animation is finished. Though there are some circumstances where he snaps though...
- Vertical Recovery is Limit Breaker dependent if you want to survive from lower parts of the stage.

Well, that concludes my review for Cloud lol the main Con for Cloud is just his Recovery. It's pretty bad unless you have broken the limit lol that's if you want to recover vertically... Other than that, cloud is a solid character capable of doing early kills with the right predictions since he can deal high damage and has a lot of launching power to keep your opponents at bay lol

From this review you made, I can only assume that you missed one very vital thing about cloud. His recovery does get buffed when you use limit breaker but from what I can tell, you don't know about how much distance he can cover with limit breaker. If you use him and use his up special with the limit breaker, he gets really good distance. Therefore, his horizontal recovery is not worse than little Mac's. It's WAY better. It might be because you keep pressing B once you've used the up B to go straight down which would make sense since he doesn't get any distance going back down.

I did point that his recovery gets buffed with limit break on lol

I'm not gullible enough to press the 2nd B while recovering FYI
and the part about him having a better horizontal is true maybe what you're pertaining is about his vertical recovery? Horizontal = X-Axis Vertical = Y-Axis d(>o> lol

Both his vertical recovery and horizontal recovery is good. However, the horizontal recovery is determined by his limit breaker. It will vary if it's fully charged.

Well, the x-axis generally means going horizontally and y-axis generally means going vertically... Rite?

Right d(>o> lol Vertically = Up/Down Horizontally = Left/Right

He is pretty OP but his recovery is bad

Cloud may be quick to attack, but he also has quite some endlag on most of his attacks. Its easy to punish if you can dodge or shield his attacks. On top of that, Blade Beam can be cancelled with almost any projectile, including Megamans lemons. The Limit bar takes a while to charge up, and even then most of his Limit attacks are easy to dodge. Finishing Touch can be shielded and once the move is done, you can grab or attack. The side special can be avoided even if youre just standing right next to Cloud. And if you can get behind Cloud while hes doing the Limit side special, you can also attack him. His up special is pretty flimsy and if want Cloud to get rid of his limit charge your best option is to try and get him off the stage. Also, his Limit Blade Beam can be reflected.

Overall, Cloud can best be described as a Glass Cannon; very powerful, but easy to KO. You just have to find his openings and attack him from there.

While cloud has a good neutral game he is most vulnerable in air. No horizontal movement what so ever with his normal recovery. If you can gimp a cloud after they used their double jump, they're dead unless they have limit active. Cloud however is a monster on stage. Can juggle opponents with his up air, space with his neutral special, and has some good follow ups. His fair and dair are good for spikes and distancing opponents on stage. His down tilt allows him to slide under projectiles like Megaman's down tilt. His down special once limit is active is hard to land but with rage, he can easily ko an opponent the moment they are past 30%. His standard and side special are good for KOs when limit is active.

However, countering him is very easy. As mention earlier, characters that are good off stage and spacing like Wii fit trainer, rosalina and Lima, and surprisingly Lucina, are all great at dealing with cloud. And if you're a jigglypuff player, it's ability on who can get who. Jigglypuff is amazing with getting cloud off stage and ending him but cloud can kill jiggles early.

Actually, I think he's very balanced compared to Lucas and Roy. Especially Lucas. He's a sweet spot magnet. But Cloud? Terrible end lag with fair, he doesn't have high jumps, and he has a mediocre dash speed. But what he gets his true potential from? Limit Breaks and his smashes. These are very good. I don't need to explain a Limit Breaks because it's obvious how OP they are but his smashes are just amazing. Down smash is quick and can easily catch a roler. Side Smash is very strong and is more than one hit. His tilts are very decent, too. But his recovery game isn't strong, and it's a shame to waste a good Limit Break. All in all, very balanced.
