Colors 3D tips?

I really like using Colors 3D on my 3ds since I draw better with a stylus. But right now, my work on colors 3D is simplistic. I mainly want to know how to shade better and how to add more details such as fur.

Here are a couple examples of my current work...I can do backgrounds okay.


Also I sold my Art Academy. I didn't really like it that well because it was too complicated for me.
