So even now I have been heavily debating on choosing which Elite Reward I should get , so I've narrowed it down to three :
  1. Mario Kart 7
  2. Animal Crossing : New Leaf
  3. Yoshi's New Island
In this thread I need some opinions on what you think is good about Mario Kart 7 ( don't talk of the other options for now ) . There are some other factors I want to know about this game
  • Does the online multi player feature still active ( with anyone )
  • Is the single player have a high replay value
  • Would you still suggest this game even though it's a very very old game ?
Feel free to say any other things about that game that you might want to say , good or bad . I've always liked Mario Kart DS because it was very cool and yeah ... help me :banghead:

  • It'll certainly be active with ME :D I've always been able to find a race when I tried, and I'm planning for some MK7 events, and since several people on 3DS Pedia got it as part of the Platinum rewards, we'll all be able to play together :cat:
  • Yes, yes it does. Even after completing all three difficulties and unlocking all the characters, you can spend time trying to get three stars on every single race or enjoying the other battle modes. And I often play it simply because it's fun, not to max anything out.
  • Yes; it's one of the games every 3DS owner should have.

Before I begin, just know that no matter what I say or what anyone else says, you're still taking a leap of faith if you do decide to buy the game.

  • A lot of people still play Mario Kart 7 online. Communities may be dying a little, but the general online racing is still as active with people as ever! (Mainly for Race, yet not so much for Battle.)
  • After each cup for every single mode in the Grand Prix (50cc, 100cc, 150cc, ect.), you receive a rank ranging from 0 to 3 stars. It's not likely that you're going to receive a perfect rank on your first try, so going back and perfecting a cup is vital.
  • In the eShop, you see a lot of Virtual console games that people still play today. What I'm breifly getting at is the age of the game doesn't matter. :p

  • Online is still pretty active, I know I would certainly play it (if I managed to find the cartridge) with a lot of people here as well. Multiplayer is fun too, but it may not be as active as MK8's.
  • The Single Player does have replay value, because you will be playing the Cups to get coins more easily so you can unlock the Karts quicker. Getting 3 stars on all the Cups won't take very long, plus it looks good online and makes you look like one of the better racers, so there is quite a lot of replay value there.
  • Even though it may be very old, it is still a very fun game and a must-have for any 3DS owner really (much like how MKDS was for the DS). Many people still play it and there will generally be more people to play MK7 with than MK8 because more people have it. I would still suggest it :p

1. Yes it is still active a ton. No need to worry about not finding a match, you will always find one and the server barely ever lags
2. Yes, it takes a bunch of time to unlock every single part and after that you can aim for three stars in all levels because if you do that status will show to other people in global. You can also do time trials and try to beat your best time on any track
3. Yes, it's a ton of fun and will last a very long time, one of the best games for the 3ds

Starting to linger more to this game now because of @Spinnerweb :p Still open to more though and I'm still waiting for @Marc 's reason for ACNL to be " competitive in online "

What do you mean by this again ? :p My mind is still quite boggled from that Faith Day thing so I wasn't sure what to say

Hehe.
Faith Day is over. It was the metaphor I was speaking of. :p

From how long I had the game I got a lot out of it. I spent my time beating every Expert Ghost in Time Trials because I felt like it. It took me 200+ hours (I did mostly single player and collected coins) to get the last available Kart Part (the Gold Kart). Getting all three stars on all tracks is also fun. I'm sure you'll find plenty of people to race with online. The special features (like racing in the air) make the game more fun, the controls are great and the graphics are better. You'll have fun experimenting with every kart also.

There are many tracks in mario kart 7 and there are also many characters. You can also use power ups and use them on other racers. There is loads and loads of fun in mario kart 7. I suggest you get mario kart 7 because it is awesome and a very cool game.

I've played and enjoyed Mario Kart 64, Mario Kart Double Dash, Mario Kart DS, and Mario Kart Wii but this certainly my favourite of all of them. The items from Mario Kart Wii are ditched (because they would mess up gliding and Lightning is just enough) and three new items take their place. One is the Lucky 7 which allows for the usage of the 7 items in the game (this really isn't overpowered though), the Fire Flower (which is really a refined version of the fireballs in Double Dash), and the Tanooki Tail (which is useful for collecting coins that you cannot just reach, stopping the weaker items from affecting you and close range attacks). The online multiplayer is also a great feature.

Since Jacky chose MK7, I'll close this now.
