So we all know aboutbthe Nintendo NX at this point but what I want to know is if this will make it break Nintendo. This maybe the thing that makes or breaks Nintendo on the charts. I think this will save Nintendo because, if they make it better than the wii u which is An amazing system then they will make it. If they kill off the wii u for this then it will break it and it needs online games from the start

Well we haven't got any information on what exactly it looks like yet or what its exact purposes yet so I don't really know what to say :/ I think that it will do very great :p and maybe something that really does the unexpected :D I think that Nintendo is doing very currently good with what it has now so I don't think it will destroy the Nintendo economy >.<

I hope it will save Nintendo, but at the same time, I don't Nintendo needs saving. With the venture into the mobile space, as well as great games like Splatoon and Zelda coming out for the Wii U this year, I feel Nintendo is doing very well and that all this talk of needing to be saved is weird. Sure, they've lost profits, but they are sitting on billions of dollars as well as beginning to make profits again.

Nintendo doesn't need saving

I think it'll be a savior. Nintendo has always been creative, and they took a new approach when creating a Wii U. Who would've ever thought of creating a little gamepad to use with the TV? Ps3 and Xbox are still stuck on the classic controller formula, so I feel like this'll bring stuff together. Also, speaking of bring stuff together, Iwata had said It "encompasses the existing Nintendo 3DS and Wii U systems, the new hardware system with a brand-new concept, NX, and smart devices and PCs.". That sounds like a big plus to me ^.^/ A little doubt in my mind still says they might mess something up though.

If I tell the truth I don't have any idea whether this will be savoir or destroyer . In my opinion it will be destroyer if this thing is handheld console as new Nintendo just get launched in USA , I hope this thing is home console.

Not to be pessimistic, but I'd say destroyer if it's a home console.

As you said (talking to @tacocob ), the Wii U is an amazing system. Nintendo spent a lot of time working on it, giving it awesome features, trying to make it an exceptional console, and they managed to.
They just forgot to develop games for it.

Well, the NX seems like another one of those very innovative consoles. We don't even know what it's about but they are talking about smart devices, connections everywhere, etc. So they will work even more on it than on the Wii U, will give it very awesome features and it will probably be a very exceptional console...
But if it follows the Wii U pattern, it will still have no games.

And I'd say destroyer too if it's a handheld because as said by @pokemon pro, the N3DS is just out and making a new handheld soon would just make everyone angry at Nintendo.

I think it could go either way. We don't even know what it is yet. Actually, even when we do know what it is, we still won't know if it's saviour or destroyer until it comes out. The Wii had to undergo quite some scoffing for its motion controls, but it definitely counts as saviour. The Wii U, on the other hand...

Nintendo could bomb for a reeeeally really long time before they get "destroyed" though I hope the NX isn't hated for no good reason like the WiiU is. I think it's mostly on Nintendo's advertising, their advertising has been pretty bad lately.

I think this would go crazy if the games were priced like the mobile apps in market. If it's really for mobile gaming applications, Nintendo quality, and competitive price range ($0.99 - $10(?)), then I'd go crazy for it. It would definitely be a game changer (pun intended).

If it's the usual (handheld, console), I guess this would... probably be a disappointing move from them.

It could go either way, or maybe, sort of both. As for now, many people are having different opinions about it. If Nintendo advertises it more, it could be amazing. They won't make the same mistake as they did with the WiiU.

I'd rather have the NX have starting sales similar to the Wii U than total sales similar to the Virtual Boy. In other words, I don't think the NX will sell very well at first possibly due to its somewhat lacking library, but overtime it will gain more recognition and games. Basically, it will seem like a destroyer, but then will turn out to be a savior in the long run. :p

Well, to tell you the truth, it depends. Like some people said, the Wii u had only been out for 2 and a half years. People are still hyped for the nx. That ain't cool, the wii u is an amazing console with amazing games. Why talk about next gen so early? The wii u is really innovative and I feel like they should focus only on it. Its not fair really. Plus, if they announce the nx really early(2017), technology on it will not be too good. If it released in 2016, no one would buy it, as they feel cheated. In my opinion, people should just focus on this gen console, the wii u. To tell you the truth, some people are not even thinking logically. The wii u has only been out for 2 and a half years, that is very short for a hype about the next console. I have no clue why so much people are hyped for it and want it to be released so early. Its stupid if you ask me. The wii u is so good and has so many great games. Graphics are really good and the gamepad is very innovative. It is my favorite console I tell you. Thus, the nx, if released early will be a failure, I would never ever buy it and feel cheated. At least 3 more years for the wii u would be fair, the wii u is an amazing console and it still has many unannounced games that will be revealed at E3. Nintendo's focus will be on the wii u this E3 and next E3. Thats smart of nintendo, I am sure sales will rise a lot as long as they keep up with making a lot of games for the wii u. The wii u in my opinion is a savior. So much games and announced games to come in the future. Well then, I released everything that was in my mind.

Nintendo's got it all to do now. Good marketing, advertising, strong launch with great titles and getting the media on their side will do wonders for NX. I mean, Wii U struggled due to these factors and not only do many people still not know what it is, but people who do are probably not interested due to how it is perceived.

So go ahead Nintendo, pull out all of the stops.

Nintendo doesn't need saving (like people said above) but it's going to be a success. All Nintendo have to do is market the system like crazy. Most people in my school have no idea the Wii U exists lol.
But yeah, make a wide variety of games at launch, achievement system (for the sake of it) and a bunch of other features I can't think of at the moment XD

It sounds like the wii u is like a prototype of the NX, and they were just testing to see how well it would do. Hopefully nintendo will take the feedback from the wii u and make this one fix the flaws that the wii u had, as well as keep all the good things it had, and it could be an truly amazing system. Also, if they made a zombiu 2 for it I would buy it instantly, because...well zombiu!!

They said that it would be a new concept all together, so it might be a bit better than that of regular consoles. Perhaps, it is both a home console AND a handheld console at once. Heck, it could be the NerveGear from Sword Art Online. I'm actually considering pre-ordering one myself, as it looks and sounds interesting and worth the cash.

I think it might be both. If nintendo isn't lazy and pulls money together for advertising, bundles, discounts and all that good stuff (not to mention 3rd party games) then yeah, it will save nintendo, but if nintendo fail to do this and hush it all up like they did with the wii u, their not really going to get anywhere.

The nx should be a savior because nintendo is saying that they'll bring a whole new concept
The last time they did that with the ds and the wii, they were at the top of game

I don't know. Probably either.

Your letters are so small xP

I think Ninty will make it with this, I don't really see a way they could mess it up. They're Nintendo after all :p
