AC:NL Did you know about the hammer in New Leaf?

I've gotten all of the tools (gold) but I've never seen or found the hammer before. The other day I was talking about New Leaf to a friend and they told me about the hammer.. how it can be used to injure people you play with during online multiplayer sessions instead of instilling fear with an axe.

Is it just me who didn't know about the hammer or do I have company?

It's just you. Never got one despite constantly hunting for one, but I did know about it.

Tortimer Island is where you get it. It's a kinda rubber hammer. It's used to play the game hammer time, but it's also rarely on sale in the shop in the island for 10 medals.

EDIT: Also forgot to note, unlike other tools, it doesn't have a silver/gold version.

also i think you needed it for the glitch that pushed Isabelle onto the beach so you could put public work projects there
