I have played ACNL for almost 500 hours. But after a while I got tired or it so I stopped playing. I did not want to keep playing, because of life and because I had like every item in the entire game and had gone through every single festival at least 3 times :p

i play it every day my file and my mom's file i got it cause i was tired of omega ruby and i wanted to see what the first 3ds title had for me so i had my mom trade it at gamestop towards the end of last year she just had to pay a few bucks it's used but i deleted the data and started camville after my son camren that's really how his name is spelled i wanted to make him different from the camerons out there so..

I played Animal Crossing New Lead alot when I first got it. I tried to collect all the fossils and a biggest house. But when I got a different game(Don't remember) I didn't play it that much. It was just unappealing to me now. Animal Crossing New Leaf is really tedious with the island bell and being so slow. I was number four I stopped playing because of boredom. I'm probably not gonna buy the next animal crossing

Animal Crossing New Leaf is a bit of an odd game for me. I certainly do go for long periods (a couple of months, at most) where I don't play it but I always end up coming back to the game and playing it consistently for a good while. It can get a bit tedious and repetitive but I love going back and visiting my villagers, changing up the paths I use, changing my house around, getting new villagers, etc. It's one of my favourite games because it doesn't really "end", so I can always come back. There definitely are times where I'm a bit sick of the game so I take a break though.

Its the kind of game i will go back and fourth in between. It seems to me that for a period of about 2 months on average i will be addicted to Animal Crossing and then for the 2 months after that its pokemon and then it would be like Splatoon or something.

Yeah, I stopped, but I want to get back into it.

I played it a lot until people started moving.... Then I started playing it every 6 months or so.

And now I don't play at all xD Best mayor ever.

I took a nice, long break from AC:NL. Now i'm back to normal. I did it because of boredom, but I didn't quit for good. It was just because of the huge rent that I have to pay off. Now, in order to expand my house, I need to pay 98,000 Bells. 3 month break, here we come. :wtf:

Oh yeah. For late 2013 til Spring 2014, Animal Crossing was the only thing I did when I had free time. But during the summer, I had new games and I played Animal Crossing less frequently. I barely played it in 2015, and today is the first day I played it in 2016. But the good news is, I'm almost done with all my rooms! The last room I need is my basement arcade! ^-^

I used to play tons, but when I got bored of doing nothing, I stopped. It's a good game, but not if you're looking to play it for .over 1 year. It gets repetitive and boring whilst still being fun at the same time... It is hard to explain. It's like eating, sure it's fun and it's enjoyable but you start to feel forced to play it when you don't want to. It get's bland like Gum over 3 hours (Or 3 weeks in my case, but lets not go into that). It is better than both wild world and AnCr 1 but it is exactly the same with better gameplay. Good luck with your ACNL Life as mayor!

I stopped playing after a good three months because of school and eventually quit and gave it to my friend who kept playing it. Now she won't put it down and she loves it. Occasionally I look at the town for check ups but that's about it

As much as I love to play Animal Crossing: New Leaf, school and other life activities tend to get in the way.
Schoolwork often gets the way of me playing, and when I get done and it's Friday, I might have forgotten about Animal Crossing and play other games or just hang around and do other things.
Life events might also get in the way. We might have to go somewhere or birthdays might pass, and I might also forget about Animal Crossing.
I do still come back to play it, though. Thank goodness I have the ordinance that slows down the weed growth in my town!
I don't think I'm completely bored or finished with Animal Crossing, yet, but there are times when I stop playing for a while.

After having collected every bug, fish, fossil and diving creature, as well as fully upgrading my house, participating in most holidays and unlocking and upgrading every shop or important building, I grew bored of the game. It did entertain me for a solid ~8 months, but there's only so much you can do in ACNL without it getting monotonous; sometimes it even felt like a chore to me so I eventually stopped playing for a while. I did get back into it, but I wanted to start from scratch. Restarting does make the game feel like a more fresh experience.

...The only reason I had to stop was because my game cartridge broke. =_=''

I literally got addicted to it for 3 months after I got it. Then I just stopped for a while because it just got boring. .-. But then after a couple more months I decided to get back into playing it again because I felt like it. After two weeks or something I stopped and decided that I'm not going to let this game consume my soul. :c

So what I usually do is, play for a long time, stop, wait for a couple of months, and play again to see how my town looks like and to get into everything again. :3

The same thing happens to me! It's a continuous cycle until it takes over your soul
I'm currently in a waiting period, but I'm thinking about getting back in the groove really soon!
I hope your town doesn't become flooded with weeds!

Just like you two, I take long breaks. But something I've noticed is that every time I try to get back into it, I play it for shorter periods of time. Maybe I'm getting too fed up on NL and have to take a look back in to simpler times of the GC version, having good villager AI and conversations that don't start repeating after 2 weeks is something that I really miss. Let's hope that the next Animal Crossing will be able to keep us hooked for a while!

I find it much better to play the game semi regularly so as not to get sick of it
