Didn't Nintendo increase the 3DS friends limit in the latest update?

I read how Nintendo increased the number of friends you can add on the 3DS from 100 to 200, so I updated my 3DS firmware and went to try it but I was still stuck at the 100 friends limit :/

Did Nintendo say that they're increasing the limit in an update or was I just dreaming or something?

I haven't heard of anything like that ever being announced. Also, I updated too, but I'm also stuck at 100! It's not really that big a deal though. I doubt anyone will need more than 100 friends!

As long as they still have you as a friend, copy their friend codes somewhere, then delete them and when you need to play with them or something, simply add them back.

The friends can't go above 254, as the counter values has been proved to be 8-bit, which means from 0 to 256, but your own friend card and the options card also count, thus the 254. I never realized though that it would be so much trouble for others. My friend list is choked full at 100 friends and I still don't have any problems!

I also not heard anything thing like that but i guess it will good if we can add more than 200 people because sometimes people have to delete someone friend card to add some else

sometime it becomes very annoying especially when you are in hurry.

I have not heard anything about it, but that would be awesome if it was a thing. 100 people is too little when you are on forums like this and have to add people a lot haha.

(I'm still wishing for my Best Friend slots, maybe like 100 for ACNL because you can only have 32 )
