I can't really remember what @Starry Windy was saying about this game but I know he mentioned it in the shoutbox today or yesterday (I think it was yesterday). Was looking through a news site just now and came across it. I'm not surprised it's announced for the Nintendo Switch tbh.

What we know so far about the game:
  • It's going to be a survival SRPG that combines 2D and 3D with lots of genres.
  • The protagonist is an 8th grader with Agumon as their partner.
  • Combat is strategy-style with square grids and energy as a key factor.
  • Click and point style field investigations.
  • Conversations are 2D images and there are choices to change story or evolutions.
It's supposed to come to the Switch in Japan next year. I'm not sure about North America and Europe .-.

Huh, sounds interesting. I’m always a fan of games that respond to the choices you make, so this might be a really cool game for me to try out.

Digimon? Is it me or did it die a long time ago? (Sorry, It’s been a long time since I’ve actually seen the show)

NOOO, THE EVIL INFLUENCE OF KONAME HAS INFECTED DIGI...
oh wait, its called survive but is not a zombie game

now without jokes, i want to see more about this game , i love SRPGS

As far as I know, Digimon has been on some genres including fighting games and RPG, but I never see the one that goes into survival territory before, so I'll be cautious on it first and will check if Digimon in this genre will work or not. But still, I hope it'll get localized into English and other languages while they're at it. And I'm glad that it might be the first time for a while that Digimon returns to Nintendo foray after several DS games (and a 3DS game, which seems to be Japanese-exclusive).

Maybe they did at some point, but it's been revived these recent years.

This contains three things I really like in video games . Collecting monsters, SRPG and a visual novel like aspect. I never knew I wanted a game that had all three aspects. I never thought it would have been a Digimon game to give me this. I wish it was an IP I cared more about, but I'm getting this. I never played a Digimon game before, but I will brush up on a bit of Digimon knowledge so I won't be totally lost on some of the monster transforming/ catching part.
