You guys remember when Nintendo game us a choice between XY and upon picking the one we wanted they gave us a DLC to redeem in the eShop?

Do you guys think they will do this with Yellow/Red/Blue?

I mean it is the 20th Anniversary and they will be giving o it a lot of stuff so do you think free digital codes will be one?

It would be a longshot, but how would they distribute? Club Nintendo used to be a prime source for these promotions but that's now gone, and Idk if Pokemon Newsletter is going to distribute codes like they did with the ORAS demos. But if they did, that would be amazing. Although my luck with these kind of random email distributions were always a fail, so I'm not really counting on it.

True, and knowing me I'm so lazy when it comes to emails I'd see it when the codes are expired.

But it'll still be nice.

I doubt it. These games aren't even out yet and they're $10 US each. Plus Pokemon X/Y were given away for free because of a promotion Nintendo of America had for purchasing a new 3DS or 3DS XL and one of the select qualifying 3DS games.

What they are doing for Pokemon's 20th anniversary are making these games available as VC titles for the 3DS and trying to promote them in their games like Splatoon (next Splatest is Red vs Blue), new event course in Mario Maker, etc :

I do hope we'll get something like an RBY Mew event code for doing a small survey like that on one of their websites but I find it doubtful we'll get something like the XY offer.

I highly doubt it

They did it in Japan, they gave anyone that redeemed a copy of Pokemon Red, Blue or Yellow a Mew. I hope they will do it in the whole world.

@Amit0603 Don't forget Green. And yeah, I've been keeping track of that in particular; it'd suck if international releases don't get the RBY Mew.

Japan's lucky, they get a lot of cool things when it comes to games :D

Green was made only in Japan, and Pokemon Blue of USA is the new Green of Japan or something like that.

Of course Green was made only in Japan. When you mentioned that Japan will be getting an RBY Mew for pre-ordering the game it makes sense that the same follows for Green too, hence why I said "don't forget Green."

Probably not. They wouldnt give us a $40 game for a $10 VC title. Also, I think someone already mentioned this, but that was a special promotion, where you were supposed to buy a new 3DS family handheld and another game and you got X/Y for free. So yeah, just buying this $10 game alone doesnt really warrant anything.
