Now this can be answered in MANY different ways. Some people can see this as "No they aren't due to having the exact same moveset" while others see this as, "Well they DO look diferent, and I have a preference for the male/female alt. of this certain character.

In my opinion, yes I do see male/female alts. as different characters due to the fact that they look different. But that's just my personal opinion. But what is YOUR personal opinion. I'm curious to see what other people think.

I would think that the alts are different characters within themselves because not only do they look different but also some alts have completely different origins than their originals. So I guess it could just depend on what and who your talking about but in general id say that they are different characters.

In a way they are different characters since both have their correspondent design and voice aspect (sometimes, however). You can say that they are exact clones in their moveset since there is no difference. So it depends on how you think of it as. :p
There's Robin, Corrin and I guess Boswer Jr. (with the Koopalings) would count.

I completely agree ^^^^^^^

You could say I'm in the middle.Technicaly, these types of characters are clones of each other, although they don't necessarily take another separate slot in the roster like with Dr.Mario and Lucina for example, because those have their own minor differences that make them arranged to that situation.Yet again, like @Bearidan said, they do have their own graphical and vocal differences, like with Olimar/Alph,Wii Fit Trainer and even Little Mac/Wire-Frame Mac.
In the end,as I see,it's not really a problem, and they're still enjoyable to personal preference notherless.
