While travelling along the routes to make up for a detour in Pokemon X, I didn't feel any desire to capture the Lv. 20 or 25 one-hit wild weaklings I met along the way. I thought that it was because they'd be too weak and throw my team's balance out of whack.

Then I realized that it'd only a few good battles and they'd be almost as strong as the rest of my team with Exp. Share on.

It didn't motivate me to capture them though :panda: I wouldn't unless the wild Pokemon was really cute.

Do you not bother with weaker Pokemon once you have a reasonably strong team, or do you capture them thinking you'll toughen them up and then they'll be useful?

I personally only keep the first 6 pokemon I capture really..it's just habit....I don't really bother with weaker pokemon when I get far into the game.

When I don't finish the game sometimes I do that but if I beat the game in pokemon x or y and I go back to previous routes or run into wild pokemon at a particular I tried to catch because there isn't really nothing much left to do except you can battle the battle mansion, collect shinies your choice and just collecting the remaining mega stones .

I never catch them and they REALLY annoy me I only catch PKMN that are atleast Lv.20
to train them if they are usefull in battle, but if not I don´t even waste my PKMN´s Ap on them.
I will be alwasy annoyed by the low level PKMN in my Way.
They don´t even give much EXP, so it´s pointless

I catch one of each then train them all to level 100. (All?! Jup all of them.) I like the way each pokémon is different so right from the start I catch any new poke, even if they're super weak. I tend to walk around with about 500 pokéballs, mostly duskballs and normal ones , a few netballs and a couple others so I'm always prepared to catch a pokémon. I also tend to catch pokémon I already have if I like them so that I can select the best out of my catches. (It's quicker than breeding with some). And every now and then I catch a bunch for trades.

Originally I almost never did unless the Pokemon looked cool. However in the GCN games you basically have to catch other Pokemon if you either want more options, want to complete a Gen 3 Pokedex, or even to have a chance if your own POkemon are underleveled (mostly true in the end game of Colosseum). Catching them all is a good option if you ever want to make a decent team in Pokemon though because even not useful Pokemon can give useful Pokemon egg moves..

When playing through the Pokemon Y I only caught Pokemon that I'd use for my team, rotating when necessary, but after finishing the game I decided to catch every Pokemon possible, no matter how level the were and then trained them up in the Chateau. I spent who knows how many weeks training up the 5 boxes worth of Pokemon I had, just because.
