Do you miss game manuals?

Ok now, so some of you newer gamers might not know this, but video games used to include manuals, which would tell you how to play the game, or maybe told you about what happened during the story, or even something you would just read while you were waiting to get home.
The main reason games don’t include manuals anymore is because the creators can just put everything into the game, which is kinda sad, because I missed when I was coming home and reading the ps3, or Wii manual, while we were heading home after a long day of shopping.
I’m gonna try and stop this from going way too long, but I’m just curious, do you miss them, cause I sure do.

Yea, I kinda miss ‘em too. It was always fun to read them, especially when they had those little secret tucked away inside of them. I remember a Wario game I used to play, and I was just reading the manual for it out of boredom. Then, I noticed it talked about a secret code. I decided to try it, and I unlocked a secret level!

However, I can understand why people don’t want them anymore. After all, it helps with recycling paper, and it’s very efficient to have the manual pre installed with the game. So, do I miss them? Yes, I do. But sadly, as of now, there won’t be a change anytime soon.

i do not care a lot about manuals when we have in-game tutorials,

however, some spanish versions of nes games manuals were hilarius for how badly translated they were, for example:

-when mario or invincible mario finds the bad guy, they dont die, but they become themselves again for a short time, during this time you cannot be killed
-koopas are soldiers of the king , but not of the turtle
-acording to the manual, toads or "musroom retainers" are the food of the princess

basically the manual was like that, but in spanish and it was hilarius

Tutorials are lame and time consuming^ but luckily they are mostly skippable. If it's not skippable then it's probably a bad game.

As for manuals I'd generally only read them if it gives me details on later levels like for Sega Genesis, NES, or GBC games but since games are generally easier now unless you want to know the controls I find there's less of a need for them and if you still aren't impressed you may as well make one yourself or read a guide online.

No. No I do not. I never even read most of them lmao.

Yes, very much so. An example of the frustration of not having a manual is when I got Xenoblade Chronicles X. The only way to read the manual is through the menu with the disc in. But the wii u is only able to be used by me after kids had gone to bed ( must keep kids entertained by letting them play on Mario etc ). I just wanted to read the manual for a bit before I play the game. Annoyingly they don't print manuals now to save money, but you still get lots of nonsense it the box. Pokemon moon had so much. Sure, alot of the time you don't need it, but if you go back to the game after a while of not playing, it is nice to have a flick through the manual as a reminder. I have a few pdfs of some games now. Just because. It is tempting to print them and put in the cases. But also slightly pointless, as they won't look as good.
