Recently the digital store has been prevalent in the world of gaming because you can buy the games directly to your consoles' storage, while some gamers still prefers going physical for collectability and game sharing, among others.

So I want to ask all of you, do you prefer buying games on digital or physical? And does it depend on the consoles/handhelds?

As for me, if it comes to Nintendo Switch, at first I've been thinking to going all digital because I can order the game directly to my console. But when I'm redownloading the data of a certain big-sized game and having to wait for hours, I find the downloading waits are not worth it, so I've been thinking to going mostly physical there, unless if it's on eShop-only. I would still going mostly digital on my 3DS though.

When it comes to xbox n ps4 i perfer digital games just cuz i dont have to switch cds constantly n can swap between easily n less stuff for my kids to get into lol
Also makes it so i can never return or trade in games n losing money in the end

But with ps4 especially since i main it now i rly like digital as ps4 has constant and endless amounts of sales and i know in canada we dont pay taxes on digital games so if it says 49.99 that's all we pay compard to xbox it be 49.99 + tax so like 58$ lol

When it comes to switch ill get physicall copies cuz of the space situation lol

physical for console and handhelds, digital for pc.
Never buy digital content for consoles (excluding dlc) because when a new machine comes out e.g. ps5/xbox two (j/k) and there's no backwards compatibility, you're stuck.

Im personally very unsure about this specific topic at the moment actually.
I like digital because of the ease of use. I dont have to switch out game cartridges phyically, I can just click an icon which is a whole lot easier when I am sitting on my couch far away from the television. It also allows for easier use across multiple devices and I dont need to order a physical product or go to the shop to get one. Also on the PS4 and Xbox On you do not even get the advantage of saving storage as they download the full game when you put in the disc.
However physical has a lot of advantages as well witht he first being that you can resell the game, or lend it to a friend. It also gives you a physical game case to display if you are into that sort of thing.....

Physical games also have the huge advantage that you actually own the game and it cannot be taken away from you. On digital, the company could revoke it at any point for any reason and as such its not really a product that you own but more like a product that you have rented.
At this point in time, its really hard to make a choice and for now I think im personally gonna stick to buying whatever is cheaper.
