So, a few months back i had received a copy of the origional Metro 2033, and i have just gotten around to playing it this week, i have put in about 5 hours so far, all is amazing with this game i love it and it has given me a few scares so far (not intentional i just get scared easily on my own with really weird creatures trying to eat my face off >.>).Just today i just realised that there is a remake of this game in high quality with new textures and it looks a lot better and everything, and it came to my attention of whether i would prefer to play the origional game or the remake instead. On one hand the origional game can be seen as better due to it being the first model and the feeling of playing it would just be showing my commitment to the game, but on the other hand i could also say the same thing about showing my commitment, by buying the game a second time and such, plus the new textures and better looks and qualities, the fps boost and other good things sound intriguing, i wanted to get your opinion on this topic as a whole, would you play the origional in a series, or the remake of it? Or would you play both, possibly the origional then the remake, to see the comparison? let me know!

I don't actually care, but I think the originals are better than remakes. Also it depends on the game your playing. If it was Pokemon I don't know what to choose the original and the remake is really good. I think Pokemon Omega ruby and Alpha sapphire were really good remakes.

It depends on the games actually... Conquer Bad Fur Day I prefer the original, but Pokemon ORAS I prefer the remakes... it depends on the added features... or the removed one, per say =/

I think that I usually prefer to play both types of games , though I can say that I really enjoy the remakes more since they do have sometimes some more content or feature and improved stuff . I like the originals since they give a good nostalgic feel :rotfl: But I believe that the remakes are always better in my opinion :p

As Sunny and Pancake said, it depends on the game. I honestly prefer the remakes of games because it's just better overall, but that's my opinion. :p

For the most part I prefer remakes because there are improved graphics and new features. Originals are okay but it may be hard to get a hold of certain games since they're much older. Remakes usually work out and would suit even the beginner gamer. Some people like the nostalgic feeling of playing a great classic, I do sometimes, but it really depends on the game.

I like to play an original game first, then the remake version of it. The main reason for that is that the first time you play the original you enjoy more and get a feel of the story. Then when you play the remake the nostalgia can hit you hard making the remake more fun. Plus the additions are easy to point out in remakes from the original.

It depends. If the game is really improved and doesn't hang on nostalgia, like Tomb Raider: Anniversary - an excellent remake of the first game - I prefer the remake, but I'm good with both. There's value to both of them - 'this game was made 20 years ago and it's so good.' 'This remake makes the controls smoother and it's still the same enjoyable story. Yippeeee.' :cat:

Conquer Bad Fur Day I prefer the original
That's because the original was far, far more entertaining :rotfl:

Well, agreed! All the censorship hurt the humour of the game D=

Seriously, why Microsoft censored a game that came out on a Nintendo console XD That Mature rating wasn't there to be ignored eh =/

It's both for me, since some games I missed because I was little or never got to play. I think remakes are nice not to mention we can fully enjoy it too if we were too young to understand what was going on.

Unless the original is REALLY buggy, I will prefer that at first and depending on how much I like it, I may play the remakes. In general though, the originals are my preference, since they have more work put into them than remakes and it's really easy to notice the difference in that aspect.

Remakes are only worth playing if there's more to it (even a slight tweak to a game mechanic that alters the entire game, an example being Super Mario 64 DS - where you can play as a few other characters besides Mario) than what the original presented to the table. That's how I feel about remakes, anyway.

Usually depends on availability of the game
