Do you spend or get fame for using friends' support demons in Dx2 SMT: Liberation character?

I first thought it was macca but after playing more and having a better look at the symbol, it's definitely FAME.

So here I am wondering if you're getting or spending FAME to use a friend's support demon for a game in Dx2 Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation. I'm pretty sure we're spending it but just want confirmation.

I thought you get it, because of the limit of how many times you can do it.
If this doesn’t give you fame, the only other way to get it as far as i know is to praise other players.

Tested it just now and it seems like you get the FAME.
