Gen 1 Do you think Gen 1 is going to get a remake or Gen 4?

The next Pokemon game will be Gen 1 or Gen 4?

I believe that it will be Gen 4 due to the fact that Gen 1 already received a remake a long time ago. I really wish a remake of Gen 1 would happen. Gen 1 is my favorite. I love the Kanto starters as well as Mewtwo and Mew in those games! It's too bad Nintendo isn't putting Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow on the eshop...so yeah I sadly believe Gen 4 would be remade and not Gen 1

I feel like, weird as it sounds, gen 1 might be more likely than gen 4. The gen 4 games can still be played on the current Nintendo handheld, the (New) 3DS, since it has compatibility with DS games. The last gen 1 remakes can only be played on an older DS that has GBA support or any of the GBA systems. That's excluding HeartGold and SoulSilver, which feature the Kanto region, but they're technically gen 2 remakes and not solely the Kanto region.

That said, if they did remake gen 1, I'd prefer a Yellow remake. It's a completely different experience from the traditional game of "choose a Fire, Water, or Grass type starter, then go on a journey and occasionally battle your rival who has the opposite type starter than you, and beat the E4," and it's instead "hey, you start with a Pikachu and your rival has an Eevee, and this makes the game slightly harder since you're already at a disadvantage against the first gym unless you catch Pokemon along the way."

I'd say Gen 4 will be remade. While you could argue that the Gen 1 remakes are on the GBA carts, they are still technically usable to transfer Pokémon to the DS Gen 4 games. This is not to say I wouldn't mind Gen 1 remakes, but as far as I'm concerned Gamefreak doesn't seem to be going in that direction.

Besides the point, I feel that fans are unfairly making Gen 4 out to be the black sheep of Pokémon (Especially when before ORAS came out, RSE was the black sheep.) When it comes to these remakes, I'm usually just on board with how the games would look in today's technology, so seeing Gen 4 remakes come out for New/3DS/NX would really update these titles and bring DP out of this.

All I hope is that they do with these potential remakes as they did with HGSS (Adding in the third title's plot) Giratina in the Altered World in glorious 3D would be epic.

The gen 4 remakes are probably gonna be on nintendos next handheld because each remake is on a different handheld. I want gen 4 remakes but any remakes at all are years away. At LEAST 3 or 4 years. I really don't think gen 1 remakes are coming again. I would prefer gen 4 remakes. Gen 1 remakes would make people want more gen 2 remakes then more gen 3 remakes. It would be too much for game freak.

I wish it was a gen 1 remake with X/Y's look... I really miss the first generation, I loved these. But it might be nostalgia talking though...

Let's be honest here, gen 4 doesn't really need a remake, no games on the DS do. Gen 1 needs another remake since it's remake was on the GBA in the first place. It would be nice to see a gen 4 remake however, but I just see a gen 1 remake more viable due to the fact it was last seen on GBA

I would have to say gen 4due to the fact that gen 1 already has had a remake and gen 4 is next on the list. The idea of a gen 7 is still possible but not likely because of the fact that Pokemon z is still possible and that they also came out with gen six not to long ago. There only option now is to defy that and make a gen seven, or come out with the expected gen four (Witch i just cant wait for) So all we can do is wait and see.
