The other day I was looking at my 3DS menu and I saw the manual option from a game. I knew it was always there but after seeing it again, I remembered it was actually a thing on the 3DS >.<

I'm not really sure how many people miss it and just load the game right away. Then again, there are people who might see it and not even care to read it =P I mean, how difficult can it be to learn your way around a game? :p

So do you guys/gals use the 3DS game manuals?

I use them almost every time I get a new game. I give it a good read to memorize the mechanics and some other points of the game and then don't read it again. I may end up reading it again if I haven't played a game in a while and have forgotten the controls or something. Also, for certain games, not reading the manual first can make them impossible to play, specifically some Virtual Console ones (eg: The Mysterious Murasame Castle). Sometimes though, I just jump right into the game, like when I got Mario Kart 7, and only leave the manual for reference in case I need it.

I personally don't use them. I know they're available, but it's pretty easy to get used to a game and it's specific controls after a short while. I guess the option is nice to have for beginner gamers, though. :p

The only reason I'd actually use a 3ds game manual is to find "How to save" :p
Sometime I just read the other parts for fun but it's always easy to get around through playing a new game, except if you're playing a really complicated game when it comes to controls, mechanics, etc. (One example in this situations for me was Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, demo >.>)

I just ignore them. I never actually bothered to read them because chances are I could learn how to play the game in less than a day. Besides the game would come with a tutorial so that could pretty much teach you how to play without all the reading. I think this just proves the fact that I'm very lazy when it comes to reading things @-@

My thoughts on that:

However though, if there's a concept in the game I do not understand and need help or occasionally some small info like the border screen for VC games, I will use the manual. But that's rare though as I only needed the manual at least twice. Pretty innovative to include a digital manual that you can access anytime though.

I mean yeah I skim it, but the tutorials are usually in the game or self explanatory. I still keep the manual, it's nice to just see the art on it or check for hints.

No way!!! I already know so much of the safety tips and the rules of playing the game so no I don't use the instructions.

I read physical manuals completely, and again someday if I'm bored and listless. I always love it when a game comes with the book kind of manual rather than the brochure kind.
I usually at last skim through digital manuals; if it's interestingly presented or the game doesn't have a tutorial, I read it fully.

Well I can't stop ya from what you are. A few years ago I was playing Warioware D.I.Y. and I didn't even know that there were instructions in the booklet that show how to get to the ninsoft store.
Oh! I almost forgot. Is it OK if you can put me in on your friend list.

I honestly rarely use guides, for some odd reason I like to adapt to a game by just playing it and just learning by experience. :p Though I always loved the ye old guide books that came with games like Metal Gear Solid for the PS1 or Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped. :D

I honestly never noticed that XD I was expecting that this would be about the physical manuals in retail games, which I personally have only read in Smash Bros. cause I had absolutely no idea how to play the first time I got it XD But I do think I will start using the digital manual more often now, seeing as I'm planning to get a bunch of RPG games, so it may come in handy XD
