So a lot of you guys probably know about redbox, if not what it is, is a machine at about every type of store you can find, anyways it has rental movies and games for like ps4, Xbox one and switch for dvds it’s $1.75, Blu Ray $2.00 and games are $3.00 a day which is pretty cheap and if you keep your movie or game for about 15-20 days I can’t remember, than you get to keep the disc, and some of the games or movies have a buy option so you can pay once and keep forever, so I was just wondering if you have seen these things, how often do you use them me and my dad usually use it when new movies come out, so l like I said before do you ever use these machines?

Nope, never used these things. If you are watching a movie then at least for me the experience of watching it in a movie theatre is so much better then sitting at home (unless you are chilling with friends). And even so these things usually don't get big movies until late into their lifespan (at least as a movie, because they don't launch dvds/blu rays right away when a movie launches usually). For games I always buy physical if I can. That way I can sell if need be, and rather then just renting I can play it at my own leisure, and speed. Basically whenever I want. And then sell them after I beat them. Or keep them for my collection. Basically it gives me more options and doesn't restrict them like these rent boxes and stuff.

I didn't grow up in the blockbuster era. There was one in my hometown, but I literally never went in it before it went out of business. This is probably why some of my opinions on renting are the way they are, but even so I find it mostly hard to believe that this was ever that popular. And also that some games used to be blockbuster EXCLUSIVES!

Ah, i looked it up and currently they only have switch games in certain locations, and a limited selection. They do have em though. The only game they have now im intrested in renting is sonic forces, just to see how trash it actually is

Thats pretty cool though how this works. I wouldn't use it though I think.

Since the dvd’s are so cheap, its a great way to see most movies right after they get out of the theater. We use it alot.

I don't watch many movies that often, but I may look into it if I ever start a movie watching spree!

Lemme think of what movies i got to wath with redbox.. the two pacific rim movies were really good, and Coco was a excellent movie. Interstellar was great, and magical beasts and where to find them was cool too. Thier library constantly changes, usually mostly having movies that have been out on dvd for a few weeks and eventually replaces the older ones.

Quick question... Are these movies physical or are they digital?

Physical. You go to a store and they have a red box you rent them from. When you get the dvd you are charged the rental price, and you are charged an additional 1 dollar at 9pm every day after the day you rent it until you return it. If the amount you have paid because you haven’t returned it gets higher than the price of the dvd, you can keep it. Without them continuing charging.

I believe they also have some you can rent digitally, but I think it costs more sometimes.

Yeah it’s really best for just one day rental

Yeah its a lot better because people usually only watch a movie once and then pack it away until you want to watch it again a couple years later.

Yes, I use Redbox, only when I missed a movie in theaters, and cause it’s super cheap, lol.

I also very occasionally rent games from them, too, Incase there’s a game I wanna try before I buy. :p

Nope never heard of this thing called Redbox. Sounds interesting, but personally I've never rented anything out of something, most was probably a public library book. Although I wasn't aware that services like these had things like switch games already, my public libraries never had any nintendo games, even back in the ds/wii era.
