Do you use the 3D part of the 3DS? And is the N3DS better?

So, I have an old 3DS and 3DS XL, and since I first started using them, I haven't really played a game with the 3D on. The only times I've used them was in the pening of KH:3D and to see what the characters in Ace Attorney Dual Destinies look like in 3D. For me, it kind of hurts my eyes (probably due to my astigmatism) so I ask, do you use the 3D feature while playing videogames? And secondly, I heard that 3D is more stable on the N3DS, so, would you recommend that I buy one/is it really that much better than the old versions?

Personally I use it sometimes, like in Pokémon battles in X and when I'm playing my smash demo but other than that it's not used.

As for getting the N3DS I'd go for it. You know how the 3D gets blurry on the old ones the new it maintains the 3D and doesn't get blurry. The new colorful buttons look nice, and the new C stick is supposed to make game play easy.

The screen is bigger too. I like big screens for some reason.

I've only used the 3D when there is a cinematic or series of them or I've played a game for the first time with exceptions for Smash for 3DS (which I may try out with all characters for fun and the purpose of getting all the Mii stuff/spoils maybe. I find the 3D to be as tolerable as real life on the old 3DS which I may prefer however I'm sure there are design improvements like say eye tracking that may be worth the extra buck for extended gamers. Personally I find it to be a clever gimmick but for 3D games like OoT with tiny rooms with weird camera angles it's just intolerable.

I use the 3D feature occasionally. Most of the times I do since the 3D can be a nice effect with a game but the times when I don't use it is when there's no need for the 3D effect in a certain game or I want to save the remaining battery :p

You should get the New3dsXL since most of the features will be more useful to you than the regular 3ds and it's definitely worth it.

I don't really use the 3D gimmick that often, as it hurts my eyes and in my opinion doesn't add much to cutscenes so much as it takes away.

As far as the N3DS is concerned, think of it as less of a "system upgrade" in the vein of the xl and 2DS, and more in the sense of what the Gameboy Advance was for the Gameboy. It has it's own exclusive games, and is technologically superior to the 3DS original model in nearly every conceivable way.
