Do you think that the 3dd version of this gamr beats the wii u version in term of graphics, amiibo settings and the genaral game play?

In more overall ways, the Wii U version is better than the 3DS Version. The general gameplay is better because you can use different controllers unlike the 3DS and it has HD Graphics. You can't really compare the two graphical aspects because 3d effect is totally different, and imo, the 3ds' textures aren't the clearest in the game.

As for Amiibo Settings, never tried it so idk.

a clear no! from me, first the circlepad sucks like hell, you need to buy a circlepad pro, or a new3ds for a cstick thats dumb! the wii u version looks better, not the graphics but the menu and the character and stage screen, wii u has more music in it, more stages and 8 player mode so a clear no, wii u is better

No.

Oh Mr. Picky Pokey Minch with the controls^. The controls are fine in either games but the Wii U version just has more content and is more widely accepted in terms of competitive battles but some people online in Anther's Ladder just use their 3DS and have excellent internet (as a typical competitive stereotype). But there is problems in terms of Amiibo compatibility in case you get the cheaper 3DS version because if you have a game system that doesn't take Amiibo or read them you would need to wait for the adapter that comes on October 2nd or 3rd in the US and it's maybe $20 at the most so yeah if you are a stickler on cash get that version but if you have all the time in the world get the Wii U version.

No because the Wii U version has way better graphics. The Wii U version is just better.

That question is like asking if NES graphics are better than N64 graphics. The answer is pretty clear: it's a No.
The 3DS has to use lower resolution graphics than the WiiU because the PICA200 GPU only allows 4MB of Video Memory (split between VRAM banks, probably like the GBA and the NDS did), while the WiiU has access to a 1GB Radeon HD graphic card, and this memory has no bank, and can be used way more easily.

Gameplay-wise, it's all a matter of taste. Though the Circle Pad on the 3DS is pretty good, I have to admit that, sometimes, it might get imprecise (which might result in you running instead of walking, or doing a Side-A instead of a Side-Smash sometimes), while the WiiU's controllers (Tested the GamePad, and the Pro Controller once) are more precise.

And amiibo settings... Well, unless if you're that kind of guy who is okay with paying his console twice (unless if you started with the N3DS or if you'll wait for the NFC adapter... who won't be out that soon), the Wii U is the way to go. At least, it has built-in support for NFC through the GamePad. (< Though it happens every now and then that the Amiibo slides off the NFC contact zone, and corrupts data... Thank the fact that the Wii U keeps the amiibo's data in RAM to restore it)

This is honest a post with not-so... "good" questions.

Of course the 3DS does not have better graphics. The 3DS version (which is the only version I play) is lucky enough to have almost the same amount of content as the Wii U version. The Wii U is stronger, with is why SSB Wii U has more stages, music, better graphics, etc. But it all seems the same. As for amiibo support, the 3DS does not support functionality with it, unless you have a New 3DS, a Wii U, or the NFC Reader required to scan amiibos, which is actually coming out in Fall this year. And unless you've been playing the 3DS version for almost a year now, you're not going to like it. @D4rkDragon I fail to see how the Circle Pad is sometimes make you walk instead of run. The only time it happens to me is by accident. And how to you possibly accidentally use a side attack instead of a side special. No way in the deepest parts of Heck can you actually have that happen. Anyway, I love the 3DS version and I'm sure the Wii U version is amazing too. But that question you asked, it's like you're trying to start a flame war between the two players.

Let's say you face a direction and you then want to sprint in the opposite. Well, here's how the console fails to read the Circle Pad input properly: the console thinks that you just wanted to turn around (that's okay, since the CP is pushed in the opposite direction), and then, it doesn't take in account how you pushed it, and considering the CP is still in a "pushed" state, the game makes you walk.

Same goes for Side-Smash (I want to smash behind me, 3DS thinks I want to do a simple (<-)+A or (->)+A). Also, I never mentioned side-specials as far as my post goes, so I wonder why you're asking about it.

In terms of graphics, the 3DS obviously loses. I mean, you can't compare 1080p to 240p...
You also have the choice of the controller on the Wii U, even though I don't complain too much about the 3DS controls (once you invert L and R).

BUT, in terms of gameplay, I think it's a tie.

The 3DS version wins a point because Smash Run is better than Smash Tour. I mean, Run still is a game where you play Smash, choosing a character, fighting opponents, etc. Tour is a mode where you don't choose your character, you don't fight often, you play a board game with more random than in Brawl, so yeah, not good for me.
And the Wii U version wins a point too because of the 8 fighters mode. You know, when you have a group of three people who want to play Smash but one is a beginner, how do you play ? You can't do a 3 fighters melee because he would either be beaten fast or be ignored so he basically wouldn't play. So what you can do is put all three people in the same team against three CPUs, thanks to the 8 fighters mode.

I'm going to be honest. I accidently side smashed in the wrong direction. But the game I was in was a little laggy. Besides that one match, I'm usually pressing the controls frantically and end up killing myself while attempting to get back on stage or attacking someone. I cannot blame the gameplay for every mistake I do.

Time to organize these thoughts from both sides of the epic controversy because that's what forums should be about.
@D4rkDragon 's argument:
The game is to blame for the way it's coded, it should be more sensitive than it already is to fit each gamer's motions and the game should have sensitivity settings just like how Kid Icarus Uprising did and that game was made by the same group of people Sakurai works with somewhat.
@Elchronic Maelstrom 's argument:
The game is not to blame because it is perfect the way it is as an art form. The controls depend on the character you choose and the movements you make and it's up to the gamer to make the proper decisions when playing the game the way competitive Smashers have to adapt to every move.

The big problem:
Gamers and machines aren't perfect. Gamers SD and the game lags so nothing can be predicted unless done mentally and properly which leads to the loss in the game and hence people shouldn't be gambling over it hence people should stick to different video games for competition because they are more serious and Smash isn't that popular to begin with on a technical level.

That's partly (< as in a "part of") what I meant indeed. Maybe being able to modify a bit sensitivity (not too big values though) would kinda help for those like me who do have trouble sometimes (or maybe I'm just pushing the CP too fast, so the 3DS can't compute?).

But, on another point, I know it wouldn't be really possible, and if that was the case, it would still have a few flaws, because getting the state of the Circle Pas isn't the most precise thing on Earth (example: in homebrew, KEY_UP/DOWN/RIGHT/LEFT (caps because that's how they're called in code), means CP and D-Pad, and the thing is, we only have three states for them (released, pressed, or not pressed), that's why I kinda agree with what you and @Elchronic Maelstrom said.

Nobody is perfect, after all.

I say no because the Wii U has better graphics, more features, and better amiibo capability. Though the 3DS version has also has some good features like streetpass and you can play it practically anywhere, the Wii U already has amiibo capability, has both Wii U and 3DS soundtracks, HD graphics and cool features like master orders.

I don't have a Wii U but I have seen enough and played it once to know that the 3ds version is way worse in terms of graphics and modes. However, what I do love about the 3ds version is that it is portable and I have been waiting for a portable smash bros game for too long. Wii U is still better tho

No way. The graphics are much better on Wii U, there seems to be much more content, it supports different types of controllers INCLUDING the 3DS and the controls feel better. The moving pad on 3DS feels terrible.

  • If people cared about graphics here, this would be Vitapedia
  • Wii U has Smash Tour instead of Smash Run, and Smash Run is tons better (Tour is like Mario Party and Smash sometimes)
  • And since the only controller I care about is the GCPad, which can be plugged to a 3DS after some modding, that argument is not the best either.

well let me tell you all the things the wii u has is better. Better graphics, more content, more people playing wii u, bigger screen and more controllers. The only thing better about 3ds smash is smash run. Smash run is more fun than Smash tour. Though Smash tour can be fun sometimes.

3ds version of smash is better than the wii u versio because of smash run and portsbility. smash run beats smash tour any day of the week because it is way more fun, and I dont know anybody who wouldnt like to play smash brothers on the go. Imagine a road trip and youd be abble to play smash on the way. You would never get bored. On the road u could settle it in smash

Am I reading this wrong or did you just ask if the 3DS' graphics are superior to the Wii U's? m8
In terms of amiibos, there's no difference, besides 8-player Smash, which can be quicker for training a lot more amikbos at once. In general gameplay, the Wii U has way more modes. Except Smash Run. Smash Run is cool, even if it wasn't greatly expanded on. (Selected final battles, playing in the same world, picking CPU levels, and GOD WHY THE TIMED BATTLES) ahem. I'm getting off topic, but remember this
Console version is always better. Unless it's Sonic Boom.
