Slash, Slash. BLAST!
Towns Folk
Now, Lots of people have gamecubes still. but me, I sold it to get 8th gen wii u, so I use Emulators on my Gaming PC. And Lots of people have trouble with dolphin. Whether FPS, VPS or Crash Fixes, This Will Help you severly.

Now, Theres Not Too Much to it. But there is for certain games.

GENERAL

Get an older emulator. Not a beta one though, get the 3rd edition. It should have a blue Mario sillhouette in white. Job done for all crashes. (100%, I've helped 11 people with different crash problems and all worked fine)

WINDWAKER:
Not Much, Go into graphics on top bar, and change aspect ratio to 'Force 4:3'. This may not work for laptops.
Now Goto Config, Audio, and change Audio Backend to 'Open AL' and enable 'Dolby Pro Logic 2 Decoder'

ANY GAME BUT PIKMIN:
Repeat top but DO NOT CHANGE ASPECT RATIO. This will DESTROY the FPS severely!

PIKMIN 1:
Keep Normal.
Change all settings ingame and not on Dolphin. If you are continuously playing pikmin, get another folder of dolphin and use that as the emulator for other games.

PS Guys, if you didn't know, dolphin is LEGAL and FREE with NO INSTALL! Get 3 folders for Windwaker, Pikmin and Others. This will help

I really doubt that most people nowadays have 4:3 monitors. You should be using a 16:9 widescreen hack, which renders the game in 16:9. It doesn't deteriorate performance. For Wind Waker, use either DirectX9, or OpenGL.

Just a note to some people: Dolphin can also be used for Wii games, and I must say, it works VERY well. I'm currently using a laptop with intel i5-6200U, and Intel HD 520. However, when playing Xenoblade with an HD texture pack, it runs almost flawlessly. I'm using a special build of Dolphin called Ishiiruka. It supports Async Shader Compilation, which removes stutter from the game. It does add to the initial loading time, but hey. I'd rather have better framerates than better loading times.

Dolphin also supports the Wiimote and all its attachments natively via Bluetooth. I use a Wiimote and CCP for Xenoblade. No extrea software required. Just the standard built in bluetooth on my laptop is perfectly fine.

I have a couple questions about dolphin
  • Where can I download it
  • How much is it
  • and can i use it on a laptop

-Just type dolphin emulator in Google and there should be their official page where you can download it
-It's free
-And yes you can :p

I have one question though, Pokepark pikachus adventure won't work on my laptop. It goes to the first loading screen where pikachu is falling and then it crashes. Does anyone know how to fix it?

You'll need to search up the compatibility list for Dolphin. Not all games work perfectly. There are still some games that dont work at all, due to how they are written.

Try finding a version od Dolphin made specifically for your game. Eg: Ishiiruka for Xenoblade.

Oh, too bad then._. Thanks for your help :p

The GameCube is cheap these days. You could have just bought one. Besides, you know that emulators are illegal right?

Emulators probably no. I doubt anything prevents anyone from writing a program that copies the behavior of a machine.
What's illegal though is downloading roms for use with an emulator.

Collapsing games that you buy is not however, so if I bought Super Smash bros melee, and collapsed/dumped it, it is legal

Emulators ARE illegal since you're playing the game on unauthorized hardware.

If you're playing a game that specifies that in the EULA, then yeah, you might be breaking some rules. But still, it doesn't make the emulator illegal, just some uses of it. For example, using it to test your own homebrew doesn't seem like you're breaking rules. You didn't specify in your homebrew's readme that you can't run it on emulator, and the programmers who wrote the emulator probably had homebrew testing in mind.
So saying "it's illegal because you can pirate" is like saying "knifes are illegal because you can stab people".

Like the above peeps said, emulators are not illegal. That's some serious misinformation.

We might as well ban people's arms legs, since you can punch and kick with them.

Go on Nintendo's Corporate page if you still don't believe me.
Ah, stop being annoying.

You just don't want to admit it huh?

If I want to play a game in HD, or the game is not available anymore, or wasn't released in my region, or I just simply want to play a console game on my PC with better controllers, speedhacks and such, I'll do what I have to do.

There is a reason why Nintendo can shut down websites that host warez, and not websites that share and develop emulators. Emulators themselves do not contain copyrighted content, so regardless of function they are still fair play.

Deal with it.

Nintendo shut down Coolrom, and they could do the same for others.

Thank you for naming one of these warez-sharing websites.

And you're still not countering my point. That website hosted games, their games. So they had the right to shut it down.

Haven't seen them shutting down the Dolphin website.
