Downloading while playing Always Online Games

Have you ever noticed that when you download a game, and play a game like doom or payday 2 (which connects to the internet by default) in solo mode, your download will pause?

Try loading the solo mode, put the console in airplane mode, then go turn airplane mode off again. You will be able to play and download at the same time.

From my research, it only works with the solo experience of games. When you load into multiplayer it will pause the downloads as usual.
