Dragon Quest 11 Confirmed for Nintendo NX

In a recent event in Japan, Square Enix announced that they would be releasing Dragon Quest 11 for 3DS, PS4 and now the NX. This is good news considering that the NX will be as or greater than the PS4 in terms of power and performance. As confirmed by GameXplain

I simply love Nintendo's approach on the NX, lol. They haven't really given us any official info regarding the NX other than that one title. Actually, it's not even completely confirmed by Square Enix, rather under consideration. I have a feeling if everything goes well with production, Dragon Quest will be a launch title for the console.

Sounds good, a 2016 release sounds too early for NX but a late 2017 or 2018 release could work - although I would expect for most gamers to have bought the game on 3DS or PS4.

Oh, and would this game really signify that NX is definitely stronger than PS4? IMO, Nintendo would be crazy not to put out a console that is as strong or stronger, but this game can run on 3DS of all consoles.

Yeah, development for the game would take 3 years anyways, so its obvious it would be for the next console. The wii u is not too powerful but I think it should release in 2017 or 2018, it would be much better for the nx

I'm really looking forward to this game. Hopefully Nintendo takes their time and makes a great console that competes with amazing third party titles and the same kind of first party titles we all know and love. A dragon quest launch title would be AMAZING.

Right behind you on this one. It would probably be the finest console launch in a long, long time. My only concern is whether or not it would be localized - it seems we're doing a bit better with Dragon Quest than we were a few years ago, but I guess it's still a cause for concern. If it did make it to localization, I'm hoping they wouldn't wreck it like they did with 4. I think they've learned their lesson since then, though.

Out of all the DQ games this is THE most likely to get localized. It wasn't poorly received (X),Not a remake (VII/VIII)/Monsters 1+2) and not a spinoff (Joker 3,Slime 3)

This would make a great launch title too.

I never played a Dragon quest game, And to be quite honest never saw gameplay footage or even boxart.
I think it would be awesome if it was on the nx though, Because I'd pick it up to try out the game.
And could someone explain to me what Dragon quest is that would be awesome.

Sounds like we're getting a DQ game as a launch title for the NX, something to be excited for. It's rather odd that we barely know anything about the system itself but we learn that games are coming to it and fast too. Hopefully the launch titles are good (like this one) and the NX library is unique and fun to play for everyone.

I never played Dragon Quest, but that sounds nice. I'm happy for Square Enix.
