I'm a huge Dragon Quest fan since Dragon Quest I and II came out. Dragon quest is by far my favorite game series ever. I finally got Dragon Quest Builders last week for the Nintendo Switch and I was totally amazed by it. The graphics are epic and the gameplay is very simple and epic. Many people say that Dragon Quest Builders is a Minecraft rip-off but I wouldn't say that really. I've played Minecraft before and I personally didn't like it. Does anyone else own DQB? If so, what do you guys and gals think of the game?

I played the demo, and it looks really good. The combat is great, no boring mining in the dark, and it gives you multiple worlds to build in, complete quests, and fight different monsters. I think I would like it more than minecraft because it gives a better sense of direction and purpose, as well as having more polished and fun combat, which is similar to The legend of Zelda. Building is good too, and does a good job giving a sense of progression without ending abruptly with “you got diamond everything!”
I haven’t played Minecraft in at least a year, so if it’s better now don’t roast me, but one thing i hate is how when Minecraft first came out you had to figure combinations on your own, then people started only finding the combinations online, and then they added the combination list in the game. I liked the sense of discovery, but now its all gone.
Dragon quest is completely different as you must find the recipe before making something, and I prefer that as it gives progression in a fun way.
