So, this was apparent this season (Ch. 2 S. 5). Normally, it would take a few levels to level up to use up all of your supercharge. Supercharge is where your leveling up is at gold, bringing your XP earning to 5x the amount. (something like that, it actually varies on certain things you do to get XP). Now this season, its like one level and you run out of supercharge. This is incredibly annoying. There were loot paths and XP farms that would get you some pretty good XP, but now they do way less because of this tweak. Another annoying aspect is that they decreased the chances of finding XP coins. Last season you can find them almost everywhere, and were really good to grab extra XP during a match. Now, they are very rare to find, and it seems as if they do nothing to your current level. What is absolutely the worst for me is how much XP they give you after a match when you are not supercharged. When you are supercharged and complete no challenges, you can get and average of 25K XP, sometimes 40K XP. But since they decreased the time you have supercharge on, you can expect to receive 5K XP per match if you don't do any challenges. This sucks imo because sometimes you get done with all the challenges, or simply want to do a regular match without hunting for challenges. I hope they fix this in coming seasons, and bring more XP coins.
